I am excited to express my interest in a position as a secondary teacher available in your district. As an

educator that focuses on building relationships with students, creating inclusive learning environments
and implementing student-led projects, this seems like the perfect opportunity for me to continue my
career.

In my 10 years of teaching experience, I have filled many roles such as a teacher, mentor, advisor and
coach. I have taught a variety of different courses and different age levels, from 7th grade math to all level
high school Professional Communications. In these courses, I have developed a teaching philosophy that
emphasizes active learning, critical thinking, and student-centered instruction. I have also invested in the
success of the school and making change for the better as the teacher advisor of a high school leadership
program called the Student Ambassadors.

In my most recent teaching position at Panther Creek High School, I assisted in opening up a brand new
school and embraced the Project Based Learning teaching model. Through changing lessons to reflect PBL,
I have been able to see an increase in student engagement, improved critical thinking skills, and observed
higher levels of student achievement. For example, in Professional Communications instead of having
students present research speeches to show mastery of informative and persuasive units, students were
challenged to become entrepreneurs, research a city, create a business to fill a need in the community and
create an informational business plan to persuade volunteer Chamber of Commerce members to approve
of their company.

I am excited about the opportunity to bring my skills, experience, and passion for teaching to a district
