I. Objectives:
A. Performance Standard: Demonstrate the proper ways in
taking care of plants, proper care of plants used for food, and
source of materials and other by-products.
B. Content Standard: Demonstrate understanding of the
external parts of plants and their functions.
C. Learning Competency: Identifies the parts of plants and their
functions.
At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to;
a. determine the functions of the different parts of a plant;
b. tell the proper ways in taking good care of plants ; and
c. connect the parts of the plant to its function using a line.

III. Procedure
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Review
Good morning class today we
will have an interesting activities.
But before that may I ask you
what was our topic last meeting? Parts of the Plant
teacher.
Now what are the Parts
of the Plant? Roots, stem, leaves,
flower and fruit teacher.

2. Motivation

Now class let us have a game, the


name of this game is Four Pic 1 Word.
But you will be group according
to your seat this is the red group,
the yellow, and the blue group.
All you have to do is to guess
what is being told by the group
of pictures to form a word. The
first group who can give the
correct answer is the winner.
You only have 3 minutes to
answer, timer starts now! Yes teacher!

1. Generalization
What are the different parts
of the Plant class? The fruit, leaf, flower,
stem and roots teacher.

What are the functions of its parts?

The roots absorb water


and minerals from the
ground. The stem
carries water and
minerals to other parts
of the plant. The leaf
receives sunlights and
makes food for the
plants. The flower
develop into fruit. The
fruit contains seeds that
can grow into new
plants teacher.

Valuing
Now class, how are we going
to take good care our plant? Water them every day!
Keep them from torns
and weeds.

2. Application
With the same group class,
do the following task. Group 1 will
do the Tier 1, group 2 will do
the Tier 2 and so with Group 3
do the Tier 3. Each group must

finish the given task within 5 minutes.

and be added scores.
