Moving forward with this course I am looking forward to embracing reflective practice as a
learner practitioner. I am hoping that as I gain more knowledge and develop a deeper sense of
self awareness and understanding that I will continue to make the conscious decision to approach
life situations differently.

My Habits

● As a Theater Arts teacher for the past 3 years I enjoy listening to music daily to provide a
clearer headspace and serve as a means of distressing.
● As a Caribbean person, I love going on adventures. I feel most at peace when I am near a
body of water whether it be waterfalls, beaches or rivers. I love exploring nature
surrounded by the sounds of nature and bright greenery. It is always an amazing day
when I decide to go hiking in nature to discover waterfalls.
● I usually have a tendency to overexert myself in order to accomplish tasks to the best of
my ability and help cater to others around me. Often this results in me experiencing a
mental burnout which is an area that I am actively working on. I am learning to accept
that I am only human and it’s okay to say no sometimes.

My Knowledge

● As an avid lover of books and reading, I have a vast knowledge of the world of literature
and different genres of writing.
● I enjoy poetry and I am also a self published author of two poetry books therefore, my
love for poetry has allowed me to amass a great wealth of knowledge about many well
known poets around the world.
● Being a Theater Arts teacher has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge in
the world of Theater. I have gathered knowledge about what it takes to be an excellent
actor on stage, cultural forms in the Caribbean and also the technical components of
Theater.
● I am quite organized in my everyday life. I always have my bullet journal with me as well
as my daily planner. Throughout my day I am constantly ensuring that everything that has
to be done by a certain date is noted. This also translates to other areas in my life
including in my classroom, in my personal space at home and in my environment.

My Skills

● I am skilled in being a teacher as I am able to effectively create lesson plans and activities
which allows my students to be engaged and excited. My classroom is always organized
with visual charts and learning aids so my students feel at peace and in a conducive
learning environment. My ability to transfer written knowledge into practical activities in
the class enhances the quality of my classes.
● I am skilled in the area of creating art since I have been doing art from a very young age.
My passion for art has allowed me to develop my skills in realistic portraits, mandala
designs and painting.
● My ability as a writer is one which has helped me in several aspects in my life. I am
skilled in producing both poetry, short stories, fictional writing and formal writing.

My Dispositions

● I am a motivated individual in most areas of my life.

● I am very thoughtful and this creates the avenue for stimulation in my personal and work
life.
● I am a resilient person which serves as an excellent trait when faced with diverse
situations.
● I am responsible for my duties in both my personal life including my relationship with
others and my professional life as a teacher.
