Context.
Maternal-child nursing is described as "the nursing specialty concerned with the care of
women throughout pregnancy and delivery, as well as the care of their newborn
children." The particular goals of MCH Care are to reduce maternal, perinatal, infant,
and childhood mortality and morbidity, as well as to promote reproductive health and the
physical and psychological development of children and adolescents within the family.
And family as a vital primary unit of care. Moreover, the MCH nurse advocates for the
rights of all family members, including the fetus. Health promotion is an essential
nursing job.

Experience.
As a student nurse, I'm very excited about tackling this topic on maternal care because
one of their main rules will be to promote optimum health for the mother and the baby.
Even in our own household, the mother should always be protected, especially if she is
pregnant or just months after delivering the baby. For instance, pregnant women are
like a queen in their houses, especially in the third trimester period. They will be taken
care of, and they are as fragile as glass because the family wants the baby to be
healthy. That is why they keep the mother as healthy as possible. And it is the same
with us nurses in the hospital setting. It is our job to provide optimum care for our
mothers.

Reflection.
Maternal-child nursing is significant in society since it involves the care of the human
cycle from mother to baby and so on. I think that life begins in the mother's womb, and
that if we want to minimize mortality, we must care for the mothers, since everything the
mother goes through is mirrored in the fetus in her pregnancy.

Action.
As a student nurse, I should constantly remember that one of my future obligations as a
registered nurse will be to care for mothers and newborns, as they are among the most
vulnerable in terms of health. I should never take this nursing subject for granted, and I
should constantly recall the basic concept and principle behind it.

Evaluation.
Therefore, nurses play a significant role in taking care of the mother and their babies. In
studying the concept of the principle of maternal-child nursing, we student nurses will be
equipped with the knowledge and skills to assess and take care of women, especially
those who are pregnant and their babies.
