As a mediator, my interest is to help both parties to achieve their goals in such a way that they offer
and get the right things. The most important factor is that both teams have to keep their calm
besides the actions that already happened, in the interest to solve the problem quicker and to
please everyone.

The key issues are that the owner of the Circle K will not receive any money because the contract
cannot be respected, the city will not be able to continue their transportation project and the short
amount of time that is left for negotiating the new terms and conditions.

Taking into consideration that the other party cannot pay the full price, an alternative would be to
sign another contract beside the original one where it is stated that the shop will purchase what it
needs from its suppliers and the other party will pay the bills in exchange until the owners get back
the full amount owed. In this way the process of building will start in time, the city will be able to
have a deal with the city council, and the shop owners will get the money back.

One of the recommendation is that both parties should meet and negotiate again in order to achieve
both interests and to satisfy everyone. Another one is that before having another meeting, the city
team should do their research better this time in order to avoid miscommunications and similar
issues.
