INTRODUCTION of the LESSON


Plato, a Greek philosopher and teacher of Aristotle, referred to Homer as the “educator of
Greece.” Despite obscure details about his life, Homer has been widely acknowledged by
scholars for the impact that his major works, the Iliad and the Odyssey, have had on Western
culture. These two epics are centerpieces of ancient Greek literature.

B. DIALOGUE MAKING: Pair off with a classmate. Together, write a short dialogue
demonstrating the different ways of asking permission to use a friend’s laptop. The
dialogue should include at least three ways of asking permission and an appropriate
