LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH VI

I. Objectives:

At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:

a. Understand the meaning of Parallelism through proper discussion.

b. Appreciate the importance of Parallelism to your writing through reflection

using your strength and weaknesses.

c. Demonstrate learning using Parallelism in single word or phrases through

oral recitation.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Parallelism

Materials: Power point presentation, mobile phone or laptop, paper and

pen.

Reference: Yu, Pilar R. (2015). Essential English. Quezon City: Rex

Printing Inc. (Learner’s Module)

Time allotment: 1 hour

III. Procedure:

Activity 1. Make it Similar


Directions: Make the guide words, enclosed in parenthesis, similar or parallel to
the series of words/phrase.

Activity 2: Directions: Change the underlined unparalleled word into the


correct parallel structure.
E.g. I love to sing, to dance and painting.

watch YouTube videos.

3. He talks sweetly, softly and fluent.
4. Yesterday, I studied my lessons, answered the homework and check

Activity 3: Given the meta-strips with words, put it on the board to its
corresponding category as VERB, ADVERB, ADJECTIVE, GERUND, or
INFINITIVE.

With the words we have presented as examples in each categories a
while ago, how can you define Verb? Adverb? Adjective? Gerund? Infinitive?

C.3.1 Lecture-discussion will be conducted by the teacher on the Parallelism.

1. Just like parallelism, why do we need to build harmonious relationship with
others?
2. How can you say that somebody is having harmonious character?

2. Choose one writer and reporter in each group.
3. Have at least 5 sentences in parallelism.
Group 1: Describe the pictures given using parallelism.
Group 2: Have a simple conversation using parallelism.
Group 3: Short pantomime using parallelism.
Group 4: Write a short poem in any topics using parallelism.

IV. Evaluation/ Assessment

Directions: Use parallel structures in constructing correct word or phrase to make


the sentence complete. A guide word is given before the number.
