ABSTRACT

This study deeply examined the styles of selected Humss during

Covid-19 in camp Vicente Lim Integrated Sschool. The goal was to

determine the challenges and coping strategies made by the student-

parents towards the style of the student during this pandemic in Camp

Vicente Lim Integrated School . This has been done by the use of

quantitative research design, specifically a phenomenological approach.

The researcher used all 12 Humss Students in conducting interview as a

participant of this research.

Based on the interview there are some difficulty challenges that the

student encountered these are the following (1) Behavioural Factor, (2)

Network Problems , (3) Mental Issue . And they have 2 Factors that help

Students this are (1) Family Support , (2) Self- Discipline of Student .

After all the completion of the study the Researcher may compute all

the conducted research done by the researcher and speak out the styles

of the Humss student.

THE PROBLEM

INTRODUCTION

Due to Covid-19 ,student of Camp Vicente Lim Integrated School

declare academic breaks through various social media and Modalities

learning .The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected the education

sector from the delivery of quality education to the maintenance of the

academic workplace. Different distance learning delivery modalities were

adopted, while teaching and non-teaching personnel have flexible

working arrangements. They were forced to work from homes to ensure

their health and safety. With senior high school switching between in-

person and online learning, some students struggle to adapt their learning

styles and stay on top of their work. Many Senior High classes already

gear their material toward reading/writing learners. In an online format,

reading/writing learners can increase their productivity by taking notes

during online lectures and discussions. Some online platforms create

automatic transcripts for lectures, which reading-centered learners can

use to follow along or review content later. Rewriting and rereading also

helps these learners cement new information. Online learners can thrive

in distance learning environments because online classes tend to place a

greater emphasis on sound and listening. Online learners may benefit


from using headphones when attending class to block out other sounds

sometimes turning off the screen can help the learners/students focus on

the material.

For almost two years, the world have been faced the virus that

commonly known as COVID-19, and after a few months this virus

became pandemic. This virus has enormous cases around the world,

those cases forced the government to implement the community

quarantine, specially in the Phillipines to prevent the outbreak. Inspite of

that movements the cases of COVID-19 was drastically increased each

day, even the fatality rates that caused by COVID-19.

In other words, because of the pandemic that caused by COVID-19 all

sectors have been affected that much, particularly the Department of

Education. This department was responsible for youth futures, that's why

the Department of Education decided to used social media platforms in

new learning system to continue the study of the students. Even there's

an obstacles in their intention and one of that was the pandemic, they still

stick to their plan to bring wisdom to those persons that they called hope.

In new learning system there are three types of modalities and those are

online, modular, and blended learning, each modality had there own

advantages and disadvantages. However, the students find ways or

styles to cope up in this situation, with the supports of their family. And

with that students little by little getting used to changes that happened in

their lives..
Objectives
SCOPE, DELIMITATION AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
This research includes the duration of the study in direct basis in the

result of the study. The scope of the study in the research contains the

strategy of grade 12 students. In delimitation of the study is to determine

the styles of 12 humss students during this pandemic .This aim to

understand the styles of 12 humss students to identify if it possible or not

in doing a some styles of doing their task. There will be no gender

preference to be observed, the technique used by the researcher in

research design.

The limitation of study is grade 12 humss student only will be interview

and give questionnaire that the researcher may not be able to conduct in

any strands and this are the restriction by the researcher that may not do.

Pedagogical Implications

These are some of Pedagogical Implication of this research that support ,

these are the following:

CHAPTER II

REVIEW OF LITERATURE

LITERATURE REVIEW

This chapter presents the relevant literature and studies that tge researcher

considered in strengthening the importance of the present research. Its also

present the synthesis of the art to fully understand the research for better

comprehension of the study. Impact of COVID-19 on Learning The impacts of

the pandemic have influenced and proceed to influence instruction strategies

each day. The instruction strategies are not resistant to the pandemic periods

we are confronting, so instructors must know how to adjust their strategies in

such a way that instructing, and its quality, isn't adversely influenced. This

consider gives an outline of diverse sorts of teaching strategy some time

before , during , and after the coronavirus disease pandemic. Researchers

has also been done that looks on how students, parents and teachers

strategic teaching and learning nowadays. (Sintema, 2020). The global

outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has spread worldwide, affecting almost

all countries and territories. The outbreak was first identified in December

2019 in Wuhan, China. The countries around the world cautioned the public

to take responsive care. The public care strategies have included

handwashing, wearing face masks, physical distancing, and avoiding mass

gathering and assemblies. Lockdown and staying home strategies have been
put in place as the needed action to flatten the curve and control the

transmission of the disease. (Subedi et al., 2020). E-learning tools have

played a crucial role during this pandemic, helping schools and universities

facilitate student learning during the closure of universities and schools. As of

July 2020, 98.6% of learners worldwide were affected by the pandemic,

representing 1.725 billion children and youth, from pre-primary to higher

education, in 200 countries (United Nations, 2020). Therefore, making

learning possible and available from homeschooling has been the need of the

hour.

Synthesis

Studies have also been conducted that examine how students, parents and teachers

conduct strategic teaching and learning today. According to (Sintema, 2020) ,The public

care strategies have included handwashing, wearing face masks, physical distancing,

and avoiding mass gathering and assemblies. Lockdown and staying home strategies

have been put in place as the needed action to flatten the curve and control the

transmission of the disease. While (Subedi et al., 2020) tells that The future of pandemic

influenza is uncertain because of the use of e-learning as a tool to provide support

during the closure of schools and universities.As of July 2020, 98.6% of learners

worldwide have been affected by the pandemic, representing 1.725 billion children and

Theoretical Framework

The theoretical of the research is to enhance the skills of student and how they

defend it. These are the following learner style that reflect students styles:

1. Visual - The visual learning style responds best by seeing new

information. Charts, videos, images, diagrams, and other forms of

visual material help these learners absorb class material. Tips in

visual When learning from home, visual learners need to minimize

distractions. Instead of studying next to a window and getting

distracted by the outside, create a dedicated workspace and make

class the most engaging thing in your eyeline. Visual learners can

also make their own diagrams, designs, or even doodles; taking

visual notes helps them retain information.

2. Auditory- Auditory learners succeed when they can hear the

course material. They do well with lectures and often learn best

when they read material out loud to themselves. Tips in auditory

Auditory learners can thrive in distance learning environments

because online classes tend to place a greater emphasis on

sound and listening. Auditory learners may benefit from using

headphones when attending class to block out other sounds. If

their professors don't mind, sometimes turning off the screen can

help auditory learners focus on the material. Reading material out

loud can also help auditory learners absorb new information.


3. Kinesthetic- Also known as physical learners, kinesthetic learners

need to try things out with their hands and move while they learn.

They thrive in experiential and hands-on learning environments.

Tips in kinesthetic , Hybrid and virtual learning environments are

particularly helpful for kinesthetic learners. Professors generally

frown upon walking around during a lecture, but in a virtual

environment, kinesthetic learners can turn on recorded material

and move while they listen to or study it. A standing or walking

desk can also help kinesthetic learners keep moving while actively

engaging with their courses.

4. Reading/Writing- As the name implies, reading and writing

learners absorb information best when they can read and write it.

They learn most easily from books and can benefit from taking

notes during lectures. Tips in reading/writing , reading/writing

learners can increase their productivity by taking notes during

online lectures and discussions. Some online platforms create

automatic transcripts for lectures, which reading-centered learners

can use to follow along or review content later. Rewriting and

rereading also helps these learners cement new information.

Understanding the learners style makes students easier to succeed during

pandemic. In conclusion, auditory learners can modify their studying tactics to

include reading out loud or listening to audio books, while kinesthetic learners

can take a fidget toy to lectures. In Reading/Writing they can develop


brainstorming , and in kinesthetic by providing lecture in online class given by

teacher so they can understand better.

There are some learners that  learn best when they're using logic to classify

and categorize information. Others need a social setting to reinforce their

learning. Still others learn best when they have to teach the material to someone

else.

Remember that sudents have different learning style not only one but more

than that so we can acknowledge about learing styles.

RESEARCH METHOD AND PROCEDURE

Research Design

The study's goal is to determine the obstacles faced by grade 12

students during the COVID-19 pandemic. And, using the findings, certain

coping methods and strategies may be given to help students cope with

and stay up with the new routines brought on by the incessantly

implementation of COVID-19, which may aid them in their jobs as

students.

A descriptive research method will be employed to achieve the

aforementioned objectives. Calderon (2011) defines this design as "the

elegance of methods and procedures for getting the information required."

It is the project's overall operational pattern or framework that specifies

what information will be acquired from which sources and how it will be

gathered. In addition, the descriptive survey approach entails describing,

recording, analyzing, and interpreting the current state of phenomena,

composition, or processes.The focus is on current conditions, or how a

person, organization, or item acts or works right now. Furthermore, this

strategy is thought to be useful in examining the replies of parents in the

research instrument that will be created in order to determine the

obstacles faced by parents during the COVID-19 pandemic.


Questionnaires are typically used to collect data in this practice. The

study will use the aforementioned strategy to assure valid, unprejudiced,

and exact findings that will be used to develop a virtual program or

seminar on how students may cope with and stay up with the new regime

.

This study will utilize a reseacher made questionnaire as data gathering

instruments.

QUESTIONNAIRE

The foremost instrument which will be utilized in gathering data in the

researcher- made questionnaire which be comprised of two parts: The

first person will consist of items which determine the background of the

respondents during Covid 19 pandemic in terms of learning style of the

student . The remaining parts is intended to measure the impact of Covid

19 pandemic that challenge the respondents. This will be enclose the


questions about challenges as well as the coping skill of respondents with

regards to learning techniques.

CONSTRACTION

The content will be taken from multiple sources and also the statement

design especially for this research that will find out the learning style by

the grade 12 humss student during Covid 19 pandemic . The survey form

will be made as stated on how the research problem posed.

VALIDATION

The survey questionnaire will do through online and content validation by

the research experts , master teachers,head teachers as well the school

administrators. ADMINSISTRATION The administration of the

questionnaire will be done through online .Specially , the assist of google

form will be utilized to reach out the grade 12 humss student-respondents.

6. I can remember best by writing things down several times.

7. I can easily understand and follow directions of the work .

8. I prefer listening to the news on the radio or online rather than

reading about it in a newspaper or on the internet.

9. I learn to spell better by repeating words out loud than by writing

the words on paper.

10. I would rather listen to a good lecture or speech than read about

the same material.

Data Gathering Procedure

Upon the aprroval of the topic and the statement of the problem by the

topic evaluation commitee, the questionnaires will be formulated through

the use of information gathered from different articles and studies .

The researcher will administer the survey questionniare via google form

or if situation permit the questionnaire will be distributed

personally to the respondents to ensure the high percentage of retrieval.

The questionnaires will be retrieved , and data will be tabulated and


statistical treated through the help of proffesional statistical . Statically

treated data will be presented , interpreted and analyze .
