I will introduce new vocabulary about moods with the cards I re-using from kindergarten but
changing the vocabulary to use the same words than in the song.

Great! Good! Wonderful Not so good! Tired!

Hungry

Then I will ask them “how are you? “ and I will mime them the possible moods.
We will sing the song and I will show them the cards

Transition: Very good children! You have danced and sang very well now you know more
words than the last class. You are doing an excellent job! Now pay attention to other words in
relation to the weather. Do you remember the poster I did made for you during my last class?
Have you used it?
 Warm up 15´:
The teacher will ask students to open their notebooks and write the date.
I will write the date on the blackboard in capital letters and ask them about the weather,
“What is the weather like?” They will need some time to write the date and the weather.
In the previous class I gave them a poster to help them answer that question in any kind of
situation.

T: well children look at this poster. When I say “What is the weather like?” You should look
outside the window and watch the sky and temperature. Then the weather might be sunny /
windy / rainy / cold / cloudy/warm/hot/windy/ stormy and you should answer “ It is
…………………………….”

Transition: Excellent kids now every day when your teacher asks you “What is the weather
like?” You will know how to answer. Well now we are going to continue working with a new
issue. Toys!

Presentation 15´:

This unit has to do with “Toys and Games” therefore to begin with it I am going to introduce
students new vocabulary in relation to these issues.

Activity one:
To beginwith I am going to show students some cards with images of the toys they are going to
work with in this unit. I am going to show them the cards and explain one or two features of
each toy.
Example:

T: Well children tell me, what is it?

Ss: It is a train!
T: Excellent! Yes! It is a red and blue train!

IT IS A TRAIN

(Features: red and blue)

IT IS A COMPUTER GAME

(Features: Small, rectangle/square)

IT IS A DOLL

(Features: Small/ big, brown and pink)

IT IS A BALL

(Features: circle, yellow and blue)

IT IS A ROBOT

(Features: Square/rectangle, grey)

IT IS A PUZZLE

(Features: difficult/ easy )

Activity two:

After this I am going to bring a big box with some toys (computer game, car, ball, puzzle, doll,
robot, teddy bear and train) and ask students while taking out each toy:
T: Well children, tell me. What is it?
Ss: It is a ball!
T: Excellent! It is a ball and what can you tell me about this ball?
T: What shape is it? Is it like a triangle, a square or a circle? It is blue, red or back? What game
can you play with a ball? Football and what else?

Transition: Excellent children now remember the toys we worked with just now and prepare
yourself for talking. I know you like to talk.

Practice 15´:
ACTIVITY ONE: Listen and say (Book activity): Students have to listen a repeat the words.

ACTIVITY TWO: GAME

Play "Fetch it" (Six groups)

I will put the toys into six different boxes at the front of the class. I will give each group a card
with the instructions of what they have to find into the boxes.

Example:

GROUP ONE:
- A SMALL RED BALL
- A BIG BROWN DOLL
- A YELLOW TRAIN
- A BIG SQUARE ROBOT

In turns students have to complete the list until all of the toys are on the table. The first group
that ends the task wins a price. (Of course there will be a price for all students)

Transition: Very good kids. Now you had fun and you know a few words to say how your toy is.
Now open your pencil case because you have to use your pencils.

Production 15´:

The last activity has to do with drawing their favourite toy and give a small description of it.

T: Well children now you have to draw your favourite toy in this white sheet of paper I am
giving to you. You also have to write what it is like. If it is blue, red, yellow, grey, green. If it is
small or big. It its shape is like a triangle or a square or a rectangle or a circle.
