The Role of Youths in a Nation-Building

In today’s globalized world, the role of citizens in a nation-building is

getting broader and broader. In fact, they are expected to be cornerstones of a
country’s development. Particularly, today’s 21st century youths play a crucial
role to help serve the country in various ways.
First and foremost, responsible youths are the main pillar of a country.
Although this subject seems too broad, practising being a responsible citizen
starts with acting. For instance, we must pick up any trash we unintentionally
drop on the road and dispose of it properly. As a result, they can take part while
the country is working to develop a hygienic environment because young people
can actively participate in special occasions like World Earth Day to grow plants
and trees.
Secondly, kindness is the world that our world desperately needs, so
sympathetic and compassionate youths are keys to the betterment of a country as
being a good citizen extends beyond accepting responsibility; it also involves
working to build a society that values kindness. In fact, no matter how much a
country is developing at a skyrocketing pace, a country without kind-hearted
citizens are the signal of decline in a country’s development. Thus, it is an
affordable and virtuous action.
Thirdly, as the saying goes, “Unity is strength”, cooperative citizens are
assisting the country to the successful completion of important tasks.  If today's
citizens need to be able to work together, it is likely that the country will have
more successes in future. While an individual's best effort can usually complete
most tasks, it takes much longer than a team's best effort. Nowadays, the
importance of teamwork has been instilled into students’ mind in the school
curriculum by practising interactive. group presentation. Therefore, they may
come up with a team’s potential for future success in the future.
Last but not least, in this dramatically improving world with radical
changes, adaptable people are the key to being a global world. Thus, they should
maintain a flexible attitude toward changes and differences among the
generational gaps. For instance, the more adaptable citizens can utilize the
advancement in technologies, the more they can come up with creativity for a
country’s development.
To conclude, the good citizens are the main pillar of a country. Similarly,
they should instill the must-have characteristics and qualities to distinguish them
as global citizens as well as to contribute greatly to the nation-building. (398)
