CASE STUDY

Managing a school is hard. Having you the last person with the final decision. The future of
the students and the business is in your hand. You need to fully analyze things before
deciding on any matter. Being a manager also gives you the responsibility in protecting the
name of the school and continuing the reputation of the former Founder built.
An effective manager have to know how to Plan for the future of the business, knows how
to organize his people, knows how to lead and control. These are the qualification of an
Effective management needs and also what Mrs. Tadino is looking for the next successor of
St. Andrew College of Business and Science.

We have 3 Candidates for the next inline to manage St. Ander College of Business and
Science. Let us first discuss our 1st candidate, the first son of Mrs. Tadino, Mr. Mario Tadino.
Mr. Mario Tadino possesses the characteristics of a strong candidate for SACBS
management. He possesses the qualities of a competent leader because he has worked as
an immediate superior in a professional engineering department. He is also capable of
multitasking and is dedicated to his career. But there is one quality that he does not
possess: financial management. As a manager, you must understand how to balance your
money because one mistake move can devastate your company or the school.

Mr. Glenn Tadino, Mrs. Tandino's second son, is the next candidate. He also possesses the
attributes of an effective manager. He understands how to plan for the future, which is
critical when running an organization. He is also a goal-oriented individual, which can
assist the organization to have a brighter future, and he knows how to balance his finances.
But there is one thing he does not have, and that is social skills. Managing a business
necessitates talking and socializing with many people in order to coordinate or collaborate
with other people in order to build your corporation.
And for the last candidate, Mr. Vincent Tandino. He also on the other hand possesses the
attributes on being an effective manager. He wasn’t able to graduate college, but it did not
stop him from being a good candidate for this. He’s goals- oriented, knows what he is doing,
and knows how to step up to take control. And he is resources. But I don’t see any qualities
that he has that would affect the corporation.

Having these candidates with these wonderful qualities makes it difficult to choose.
However, one of them weighs the merits of the others. If I were to pick the next president of
St. Andrew College of Business and Science, it would be Mr. Vincent Tandino, the third son.
He did not graduate, but it did not prevent him from becoming an effective manager. He
holds the four management functions. Planning, organizing, controlling, and leading are all
aspects of management. He worked as a call center representative in customer relations,
which can assist him operate the foundation because social skills are required. He may
start an exchange program for the foundation because he has experience teaching Koreans
and is familiar with different cultures.

If Mr. Mario becomes the next President of St. Andrew College of Business and Science, the
college may go bankrupt. And if Mr. Glenn becomes the next president, the foundation will
not expand; rather, it will remain where it is since there won’t be collaborating and
socializing with others. On the other hand, if Mr. Vincent becomes the next President of the
foundation, it will grow and develop into an even stronger foundation with a brighter
future.
