A. Preliminary Activities
1. Check the attendance of the students.
2. Ask the students to pick up the pieces of paper or wrappers under their chairs and
arrange their chairs properly.
3. Instruct the students to sit properly and prepare for the lesson.
B. Motivational Activity
1. Instruct the students to look for the three words related to Practical Research 1
subject.
2. The students will encircle the words that they will find in the puzzle.

C. Presentation
1. Present the topic of the lesson and the objectives.
2. Ask the students what they know about basic and applied research.
3. Let the students read the definition of basic and applied research and allow them
to differentiate the two.
4. Post 6 examples of research topics on the board and based on how the students
understood the difference between basic and applied research, let them identify
which of the research topics are the examples of basic and applied research and
allow them to explain their answers.
D. Application
Group Activity:
1. Group the students into four (4).
2. Instruct each group to accomplish the table by writing examples of basic and applied
research.
