In Hong Kong there is a heated debated on Young people’s aspirations, expectations, and

frustrations. And also recommendations are given by professionals that political protests are

powered by housing as well as democratic deficits. Certainyl from braoder politics it is not even

possible to unravel housing. This article focuses on actually how young people in Hong Kong

think about housing. In this article survey was conducted and young people were asked about

their present problems and also how the future is seen by them? It seems that there is little or no

interest in Hong Kong among young generation in pooling costs of housing by these types of

sharing settings of houses. Yip Ngai-ming and Ray Forrest in this article conducted a survey of

attitudes towards housing of young people of Hong Kong, which shows that several people are

negative about future because they struggle to keep balance in their family responsibilities and

their own wishes.

This paper discovers the housing aspirations and attitudes of young people of Hong Kong who

are aged among 18 and 35. Several factors contribute towards failure of young people to launch

phenomenon, like behavioral characteristics, social cognition, and demographic structure.

However, probably economic constraints are the key cause to explain their late exit from parental

house: because of imbalance between incomes and house prices, housing access seems an

impossible impediment in Hong Kong to the young people. This type of problems has reshaped

their behaviors and thoughts. Also young people have been entangled in the change to the

knowledge based economy.

Young people across several societies face increasing issues in making the change from the

maternal home to their independent homes. Mostly lack of affordable substitutes to house

ownerships and rising house prices is commonly blamed. This article explores these problems

with respect to the young generation in Hong Kong. Moreover, it argues that in Hong Kong the

housing question has different local features and could not be detached from broader economic

and political tensions. Also it shows that young people views and housing choices are formed by

more than problems of access and cost. The article draws on unique data-set that reveals the

expectations and attitudes with respect to housing in young generation inn Hong Kong. The

housing issue addressing is regarded widely as a political precedence and important to keep the

social cohesion. But economic interests and political imperatives are pulling in distinct

directions.
