School is a place for personal growth. A place to meet different types of people and their
behaviors and learn how to communicate with each other. Having friends is common in high
school. Of course, peers play a big role in student life. High school is also an important part of an
adolescent's life. Because they plan and make decisions about their course and future. Then ask
your peers to help you make that decision. Peer groups have more influence than their parents, so
peers can have both positive and negative influence. In their study, the instrument they used was
a survey questionnaire and their survey questions were focuses on the peer influence on students
academics, compliance to school policies, participation in school activities, and habits.
Moreover, they’ve mentioned that friends can help you celebrate good times and provide support
during bad times.
So on, they’ve state that in adolescence, friendships are one of the most important social
contexts. We feel less lonely, healthier, happier, and receive information about happiness from
our friends. They help motivating students to achieve academically in order to acquire crucial
social skills for adult life. Peer relationships are an uncommon form of friendship among people
who like spending time together. Also, they separate into age and gender-based groupings. They
rely their choices about happiness on what their friends think. In addition, they propound that
according to some students, school rules are not important because of what they have heard from
their peers. These students would eventually start to form a particular group. This is because
classmates are thought to be the ones that mold other pupils' attitudes and behaviors. Those that
communicate on a same level of quality are likely to share certain social features, such as age,
class, occupation, or even education and peers who have negative attitudes would only
influences towards negativity in all aspects of their lives. Then, when a students indulges with
negative activities with his or her friends, it leads to social problems, including drug addiction.
Their study taught us that we should be careful on choosing our peers.

Finally, Peer relationships can also help us learn to control our emotions and respond to
others appropriately. Better grades are also among the perks of friendships, as several studies
have shown that socially active students often have better academic outcomes at school.
Friendships are incredibly important during adolescence. Teen friendships help young people
feel a sense of acceptance and belonging. They support the development of compassion, caring,
and empathy, and they are a big part of forming a sense of identity outside the family. We
learned a lot about their research, it gives students like us a knowledge about peers, we should
choose the right people around us.“Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It’s not
something you learn in school. But if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you really
haven’t learned anything.” — Muhammad Ali
