Gospel  Luke 12:49-53

The gospel is about the reality of truth and the light of Jesus.
Following Jesus entails animo in the soul. One should be able to stand for
what is true and what is just to see the light coming from Christ.
Jesus was enthusiastic about the mission given him by the Father. There
was energy for it and momentum to carry it out. His desire was in
harmony with that of the Father. Jesus has called us to continue that
mission of bringing good news and healing. We pray for the gifts we need
and for the transformation of desire that brings us more into harmony
with him in living out our call. Jesus is totally involved in his mission to
save us. Fire is the image he uses to speak of this great desire in his heart.
Not everyone would receive his message and hence it would bring
division at a deep level in many relationships.
