POSITION CONTROL
()
With the hydraulic system selector lever set for position
control, the tractor hydraulic system will maintain the
height of the hydraulic lift links with respect to the tractor.
There is a definite relationship between the position of the
lift control lever with respect to the quadrant, and the posi-
tion of the hydraulic lift links with respect to the tractor.
When the lift control lever is moved to a higher or lower
position on the quadrant, the hydraulic system immediately
repositions the attached equipment to a higher or lower
position.
The system will maintain the selected position until the Figure 20
lift control lever is again repositioned on the quadrant. Set Remote Control Valves

handles in the raise or lower position until the remote
cylinder reaches the end of its stroke. The detent is then
released, and the centering spring causes the handle to be
returned to its neutral position. On valves without detents,
the handles always return to neutral unless they are held in
the raise or lower position. Once released, the handle \"0" RINGS
returns to neutral whether the remote cylinder has reached
the end of its stroke or not.
With proper installation and attachment of the cylinder
hoses, moving the control handle(s) forward will lower the
equipment; moving the control handle(s) rearward will raise
the equipment. See Figure 21.
The remote control valves incorporate bypass and float
valves which provide for a variety of remote cylinder appli-
cation. The function of these valves is covered in the Figure 21
