The auxiliary service selector valve knob permits the
use of a remote cylinder. The knob, shown in Figure 1D, is
standard equipment on the Ford 7000 Tractor. Pull the knob
to its full "out" position for remote cylinder operation. Push
the knob to its full "in" position to operate the tractor
hudraulic lift linkage and remote control valve. Operating
instructions are covered on page 15.

SPECIAL LOAD MONITOR REMOTE CYLINDER

Your Ford 7000 Tractor is provided with the Special
Load Monitor Remote Cylinder and connecting hoses as
standard equipment. This special cylinder is used in con-
junction with the Load Monitor system of control to provide
draft corrections when u·sing pUll-type equipment and semi-
mounted equipment (operates simultaneously with the
tractor lift links). The cylinder can also be readily adapted

HYDRAULIC LIFT SYSTEM CONTROLS

HYDRAULIC LIFT CONTROL LEVER

The hydraulic lift control lever is shown in Figure 10. To

raise the hydraulic lift arms, pull the lever upwards. To
lower the lift arms, push the lever downwards. Two adjust-
able stops may be provided for establishing reference
pOints for locating the lift control lever at any position in the
quadrant. The adjustable stop makes it possible to locate
the lift control lever at the same. reference point repeatedly
without variance.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM SELECTOR LEVER

The hydraulic selector lever is shown in Figure 10. There

are five operating positions for the system selector lever.
The lowest position is for upper link draft control; the mid
position is for implement position control; and the three
uppermost positions are for load monitor control. Refer
to "Operating Hydraulic Lift System" on page 15 for details
pertaining to draft and pOSition control and load monitor
operation. Figure 10

POSITION CONTROL
()
With the hydraulic system selector lever set for position
control, the tractor hydraulic system will maintain the
height of the hydraulic lift links with respect to the tractor.
There is a definite relationship between the position of the
lift control lever with respect to the quadrant, and the posi-
tion of the hydraulic lift links with respect to the tractor.
When the lift control lever is moved to a higher or lower
position on the quadrant, the hydraulic system immediately
repositions the attached equipment to a higher or lower
position.
The system will maintain the selected position until the Figure 20
lift control lever is again repositioned on the quadrant. Set Remote Control Valves

handles in the raise or lower position until the remote
cylinder reaches the end of its stroke. The detent is then
released, and the centering spring causes the handle to be
returned to its neutral position. On valves without detents,
the handles always return to neutral unless they are held in
the raise or lower position. Once released, the handle \"0" RINGS
returns to neutral whether the remote cylinder has reached
the end of its stroke or not.
With proper installation and attachment of the cylinder
hoses, moving the control handle(s) forward will lower the
equipment; moving the control handle(s) rearward will raise
the equipment. See Figure 21.
The remote control valves incorporate bypass and float
valves which provide for a variety of remote cylinder appli-
cation. The function of these valves is covered in the Figure 21
