Do we need invitations?

When do we use invitations?

What do we have to write on them?

S- answer these questions

ACTIVITY 1 Time: 13 minutes

Interaction: group work

T- open your books on page 14. Today we’ll do the lesson Invitations. Write the title in your
notebooks.

-In groups , you’ll do the exercise 1 on page 14. Look at the pictures on the right and answer
the questions: a) Who do you celebrate your birthday with?

b) What do you usually do before the party?

c) What do you usually do at the party?

d) What presents would you like to receive for your next birthday?

S- in groups write the answers to these questions


ACTIVITY 2 Time:15 minute

Interaction: Individually, pair work

T- look at Language Focus. There we have some expressions used for inviting people, accepting
invitations and refusing invitations. Read them in silent.

S-read the Language Focus

T- In pairs, look at exercise 3 a on page 15. Look again at the first two columns in the Language
Focus box on page 14 and complete the dialogue. Write it in your notebooks

S- complete the dialogue and then some student read what they have completed

ACTIVITY 3 Time: 12 minutes

Interaction: pair work

T- at exercise 3 b on page 15 we have some pictures. In pairs, look at the pictures and make
similar dialogues giving and accepting invitations

S- do this and then some of them read what they have written in their notebooks

HOMEWORK: Make at least two dialogues refusing invitations and giving reasons why.
