1. What purpose do a protective alarm was designed for? Is it vital in modern establishment?
- to detect intrusion unauthorized entry into a building or other area such as a home or school.
Security alarms are used in residential, commercial, industrial, and military properties for
protection against burglary (theft) or property damage, as well as personal protection against
intruders. Security alarms in residential areas show a correlation with decreased theft. Car
alarms likewise help protect vehicles and their contents. Prisons also use security systems for
control of inmates.
2. Can we replace a security guard with a security Camera only to secure a establishment?
-During difficult times like these, security service is usually the first victim of budget-cutting
operations of top management. It is a cost center. Not only is the guard expensive especially in
well-developed countries where wages are relatively high, but also security operations are
considered to be a money absorbing service where immediate return on investment is not
visible unless there is a security related issue.

4. What is the importance of securing a different keys to access an establishment?


-Despite the widespread use of electronic card access control systems, most facilities still make
extensive use of traditional locks and keys at their facilities. It is still much less expensive to
equip a door with a standard lock than it is with any type of electronic access control device.
For these reasons, most organizations equip only a small percentage of their doors with
electronic access devices, and install traditional locks on the majority of their other doors.

-A visitor pass or visitor badge needs no formal introduction. It is fundamentally a printed piece
of paper on which office visitors have their names, along with some other relevant details
including a small photograph, signature maybe. It’s either that or a sticky label that the visitor
sticks to their clothing. Both of which are extremely cost effective.
7. Why employers need to conduct an in-depth background check/investigation to their
applicants?
-Background investigations and reference checks are employers' principal means of securing
information about potential hires from sources other than the applicants themselves. A
background investigation generally involves determining whether an applicant may be
unqualified for a position due to a record of criminal conviction, motor vehicle violations, poor
credit history, or misrepresentation regarding education or work history. A reference check
generally involves contacting applicants former employers, supervisors, co-workers and

educators to verify previous employment and to obtain information about the individual's
knowledge, skills, abilities and character.
