Topic Question: Is success determined by hard work or luck?

Most people spend their whole lives trying to achieve success. Once someone achieves
it, some people will claim that it was luck; others will believe that it was hard work. That
makes us wonder whether success is determined by luck or hard work. Therefore, in this
essay I will be talking about what is the key to success, working hard or being lucky.

Some people believe that luck is the ultimate key to success. However, it is true that we
do not agree on the same definition of success, which makes it harder for us to decide the
answer, but we can consider being successful as being financially stable. Nevertheless,
for some people, luck can determine whether you are going to be successful or not. A lot
of us can be born talented at certain things or with the ability to do certain stuff. For
example, being born with a good voice can help you to be successful as a singer, or being
born with a good-looking face, which can help you to become a model and achieve
success. On the contrary, some people believe that the key to success is hard work.

For many people, success is determined by hard work. No one can deny that hard work
is one of the most important elements to success. It is something necessary to work hard
in order to be successful. Being born talented is not enough, it may help you and make it
easier, but it does not mean you will not have to work hard for it. For example, many
people are talented at some things but not all of them are successful because of their
talents. In fact, many people are not lucky, instead, they make their own luck by working
hard. However, personally I do agree that success is determined by hard work.

Even though luck is an important factor to be successful, I believe that it is not enough
without hard work. No matter how lucky and talented you are, you still need to make
some efforts and work hard in order to be successful. For example, as we mentioned
before, some people are born with a good voice at singing which can help them to be
successful as singers. However, even if those people are gifted, they still need to work
hard by improving and promoting themselves. Many people have a good voice, but not
all of them are successful, which proves how important it is to work hard and to stop
relying on luck.

Each one of us considers being successful as the ultimate goal of their lives. Moreover,
achieving success is indeed much easier when you are gifted and talented, but hard work
is still an important factor for us to be successful. Therefore, whether you are born lucky
or with no talent, hard work is doubtlessly the key to success. As noted before, many
people are not lucky, instead, they make their own luck by working hard.
