The bar chart presents how many males and females conducted research on six different
subjects at an US university in the year of 2011.
Overall, there were more males taking part in research in the field of psychology,
engineering, programming, and mathematics, but more females conducted research on
linguistics than males. Interestingly, males and females were equally represented in terms
of doing research on natural sciences.
According to the chart, the number of males who participated in psychology was 200,
compared to about 170 of females. This is followed by mathematics where 160 more men
attended to research in comparison with women. Regarding programming, the number of
men accounted for 150, surpassing the number of women with 70. Similarly, although 150
boys enrolled to engineering research, the number of girl participation was 90.
In contrast, the number of women was 110; however, men participation number was 80.
As for natural sciences, males and females were equally interested in this subject, 200 for
each.
The bar graph shows the percentage of male and female academic staff members in
different faculties of a particular university in 2008.
