ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES:

Directions: The situation in each item below may be a barrier to


communication. In two to three sentences, think of a strategy to avoid
communication breakdown.

1. Your new classmate is a Japanese who doesn’t speak Filipino and


English well.
Learn some japanese language so that you both can understand each
other. Now that you’ve learn some japanese language teach him/her
how to speak filipino and english by translating the filipino/english
words to japanese.

2. You are a lawyer and your neighbor who has not able to finish grade
asks you about a case.
I will explain the case in a more easily understand explanation. And I will
be understanding and patient whenever he/she asks questions.

3. You are helping your little brother with his homework, but he seems
not interested to study.
I will make the homework more exciting and fun so that he can have fun
while we are studying. And treat him some snacks if he finished his
homework.

4. A deaf is talking to you.


I will learn some sign language so that when a deaf is talking to me we
will understand each other. I will use my phone so that he I will just type
the words I need to say to him/her.

5. You want your brother to help you with your math assignment, but he
looks so tired because he just got home from school.
I will still ask my brother if he can help me then if he says no, I won’t
force him because I know too that school is stressful. I will just ask
another person to help me so that my brother can take a rest.
