MR-Fluid Basonetic® 2040
Magnetorheological Fluid (MRF) for damper applications

Basonetic® 2040 is a hydrocarbon-based magnetorheological fluid (MRF), suitable for use in devices that can be
electronically tuned using magnetic fields.
Basonetic® products are suspensions of Carbonyl Iron Powder (CIP) and can change their physical properties in
milliseconds, from liquid to solid and back again, when subjected to a magnetic field.

Valve mode Enabling valve mode applications

Basonetic ® 2040 is optimized for devices using the MRF
‘valve mode’, especially adaptive shock absorbers, dampers,
Pressure
hydro-bushings and mounts.
MRF
Stability against sedimentation and outstanding low temperature
properties support damping devices with a high on/off stroke
Magnetic induction and high reliability.
