Dear Host Family,

I am Lovely Mae B. Balanag, Filipino, 24 years old, currently living in the

Philippines. I graduated BS Accountancy, year 2018. I am currently working as a
teller at a Water Utility company. I am fluent in speaking English and Tagalog, and
knows a little bit of Korean and I’d love to learn more foreign languages. I love
cooking and trying new foods, and traveling and exploring new places. I am an
outgoing person and I enjoy having social interactions. I am a sporty person. I play
Pickleball, Volleyball and Badminton. I am always a curious person that also loves to
share things that I learn. I come from a family of five. I am the eldest among the 3.
My sister is 19, and my brother is 17. They are both studying. We have a small
family business runs by my father, he is now 49 years old, and my mother is 50
years old, she is a housewife and helps with the business. My parents have been
happily married for 25 years. We love to eat and spend our time with each other,
especially, when there are celebrations and life events.
I am responsible, trustworthy, and patient especially, towards children. I am
neat and organized in doing household chores. I can work attentively. I used clean
neighbors’ houses when they’re away for weeks for their work and needed help in
their household chores. I also took care of their children when they were younger,
ranging from 2 to 12 years old. I also used to take care of my siblings and cousins
when they were younger, even nieces and nephews. I always make sure that
spending time with them will be productive, interesting, and fun like playing in the
playground, learning to read and write, playing sports and others. I love taking care
of children because they bring joy to me.
As an aspiring au pair, I want to experience and adopt European culture. It
was always my dream to work and travel to other countries especially in The
Netherlands because I want to meet new friends, to explore in another environment,
and visit places (see the Tulip fields and the beautiful architectural building designs
in the country). I want to know the Dutch cultures, traditions and to see the beauty of
the country and the people living in it. I'm very motivated to be an au pair and grab
the opportunity to be part of a family in The Netherlands.
