1. Returns fluid to the blood stream from the
extracellular spaces
2. Filters out and phagocytize bacteria and other
foreign material
3. Helps maintain homeostasis and tissue health
4. Produce antibody and lymphocytes
5. Absorbs and transport fat from the intestines to
the blood stream
