• Physiology deals with the function
of a living matter and includes a
number of subsidiary discipline such
as behavior, biochemistry and
biophysics.
External anatomy of farm animals
A.Beak- projecting mouthpart of the chicken
B.Bill- projecting mouthpart of water fowl
C. Hoof- the entire part of the foot of the animal covered in horny
covering
D.Muzzle- projecting part of the animal head including the mouth, jaw
and nostril. It is seen in cattle, carabao, goat and sheep
E. Snout- projecting mouthpart of swine
F. Wattle- fleshy lobe appendage hanging down from the throat or chin
G.Hindquarter- back or posterior region of the animals including the
par supported by the hindlegs
H.Barrel- trunk or middle part of the animal body bet. The fore and
hind legs
I. Hair- coat covering of cattle, goat, horse and swine
J. Wool- coat covering of sheep
K.Feather- body covering of poultry
