Aims:
1. T will instruct Ss to find an adjective that fits them the most.
2. T will provide Ss with flashcards consisting of pictures and spelling for each word.
3. T will guide them on how to work effectively in groups to find out meanings and pronunciations of new vocabulary.
4. T will help Ss understand how to use "used to" and "be used to" so that they themselves can elicit the rule.
5. T will offer some appropriate feedback or point out some mistakes that they make during the practice stage.

Objectives:
1. Ss will know how to introduce one of their significant characteristics.
2. Ss will learn some new verbs that they can apply to daily life.
3. Ss will know how to use two expressions "used to" and "be used to".

Class profile: There are 20 students in this group, 13 women and 7 men. Most of them are between 18 and 27
years old. They are able to communicate in a basic way. They can string some sentences together, or take part in simple
spoken interactions. In other words, they can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct
exchange of information on familiar and routine matters such as: asking about names; talking briefly about jobs, families,
interests; exchanging phone numbers.

Anticipated problems:
1. Ss might not understand the instructions of the warm-up activity.
2. Ss might feel shy standing and presenting an adjective in front of their classmates during the warm-up stage.
3. Ss might not understand the meaning of a new piece of vocabulary.
4. Ss might be confused about the meaning of two expressions "used to" and "be used to"
5. Ss might make mistakes putting "used to" and "be used to" into their speech during the production phase.

Time Activity Procedure Interaction


1. tell Ss they have to find and write down an
appropriate adjective that begins with each letter of
their first name. They can use a dictionary, Google,
or any other resource if needed.
2. distribute each S an A4 plain paper and a marker.
3. give them 3 minutes to find an adjective and
write it with their name on the paper.
4. encourage each S to talk to the other 3 Ss.
5. at the end, Ss stand up, show, and read their T - Ss

1. give Ss the handouts which include pictures and


spelling of 8 verbs standing for 8 activities. Ss need
to decide on which activities they did in the past,
and which activities are now their habits, routines.
