DESERT FOR A SPECIAL EVEN

Today I will tell you about Banh Chung, the traditional dish that most Vietnamese eat
during Tet holiday.
First I want to talk about how to make banh chung.
The ingredients to make banh chung include glutinous rice, green beans, and pork. Rice and
green beans are soaked overnight, pork is seasoned with a little salt and pepper for several
hours. All ingredients are wrapped in a special leaf called “ lá dong” and wrapped in a square
shape.
then it will be boiled for 10 hours with low heat. For me, I think that's the most memorable
part. family members sit together around the fire, chatting and eating all night to look after ball
chung.
According to Vietnamese culture, making banh chung on Tet holiday is a way to express
gratitude to ancestors and homeland.
Nowaday, most families in Vietnam keep this tradition, but some people in the city
don't, they don't have enough time to make cakes, so they buy it at the store.
Anyway, banh chung is a traditional food and a symbol of Tet in Vietnam
