My most memorable experience was the first time I wrapped Banh Chung.

Banh Chung
is a traditional dish in Viet Nam but when I was 16 years old, I made them myself for the
first time. Near Tet, I was instructed by my grandfather how to wrap cakes. I felt very
excited about it. The main ingredients are sticky rice, dong leaves, meat, crushed green
beans. Each ingredient is carefully selected to create the most delicious and rich food. He
gave me a mold to shape the cake, which made my job easier. The next step is to
carefully layering the rice, green beans and pork in dong leaves. The cake is then
wrapped and tied with string to keep its shape during cooking. The first time I tied the
cake wasn’t very secure, so I had to ask for help from my grandfather. Finally, the cake
was cooked by my grandmother for a few hours. It was the most memorable experience
for me because I made the traditional cake of my country’s by myself. I feel well worth
the effort.
