Favourite Food

I love/ like a lot of food such as fried chicken, noodles, pizza, sandwiches ,and so on. But,
indeed, I prefer noodles than any dishes. I have eaten it in To To restaurant for about 9 years.
I think chicken noodles here is the most delicious than these in any restaurants. Chicken
noodles is considered as (coi như là) a familiar (quen thuộc) dish in Vietnam. It is cooked with
chicken, noodles and special sauce. This sauce is often made of chicken bones (which are)
simmerred (ninh, hầm) in many hours.
When I was a child, we used to eat in that restaurant twice or threetimes a week. But now,
because my parents are quite busy, we just can come here and enjoy the meals once a week.
We often go there at weekends. We usually have to go soon since after 8.00 am, it is
crowded.

Shopping
At the beginning of June, my big family went to Quang Nam province for a short summer
holiday. We had a great time there. Before coming back to my hometown, I wanted to buy a
teddy bear. But, my mom disagreed (không đồng ý) because in fact, I had about 15 teddy
bears at home. I started crying and entreated my mom for a quite long time, so finally, she
agreed unwillingly. I was so happy whereas my mom was quite angry.

Traditional food
Vietnam has a variety of food such as “pho”, “banh mi”, “cha gio/ nem cuon” (spring roll)…
But, today, I would like to talk about a traditional dish. It is Banh chung, the most specific
traditional food in Tet holiday. We also have a legend about “banh chung”. Once upon a time,
under the sixth reign (triều đại) of Hung King, he said that he would pass the throne to the
person who could find the most delicious and strangest food. And his eighteenth son, Tiet
Lieu could make it. He gave to Hung King a dish which was made of sticky rice, pork and
green beans. They were covered outside by many banana’s leaves/ phrynium leaves (lá
dong) layers (lớp). Since then, “banh chung” became an important food at Tet holiday. Before
Tet, each family usually gathers around and make it. I really like “banh chung”.
