MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS

PART 1 - ELECTRICAL WORKS

1.1. SCOPE OF WORK


1.1.1. The work consists of furnishings of all materials, tools and equipment and all necessary services
to complete the electrical work ready for operation as shown in the drawings and specified as
follows;
1.1.1.1. Supply and installation of the main and sub-feeders from electrical panel boards up to
service entrance.
1.1.1.2. Supply and installation of electrical panel boards, gutters, pull box and accessory boxes as
required.
1.1.1.3. Supply of wiring devices such as porcelain receptacles, outlets, switches, Etc., complete
with suitable cover plates as per specification.
1.1.1.4. Supply and installation for all branch feeders’ circuit from panel boards up to all outlets,
switches, controls, or other loads; other wiring as shown in the plan.
1.1.1.5. Installation of all owners furnished materials such as lighting fixtures and electrical control.
1.1.1.6. Grounding system as per EE Code requirements.
1.1.1.7. Installation of CCTV, roughing-ins and wiring-ins devices. BY: Others

1.2. CODES AND REGULATIONS


1.2.1 The Electrical work shall be done in accordance with all the requirements of the latest issue of the
Philippine Electrical Code, with rules and regulations and Ordinances of the local enforcing authorities
of the local municipality or city and the requirements of the Local Power Company (MERALCO).

1.3. DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS


1.3.1. All installation shall be done in a work-manlike manner and shall include all necessary works that
may not be clearly indicated in the plans or schematic but necessary to attain the purpose intent
of the design scheme.
1.3.2. The plan indicates the general layout of the system and the location of the outlets are
diagrammatic, and may be adjusted as required by the Architect before installation.
1.3.3. The contractor shall record all accomplished as work progresses in a set of records plans. Three
(3) sets of As-Built Drawings shall be duly assigned and sealed by the supervisor-in-charge of
installation and construction for the owners and the Architect’s references and maintenance
purposes.

1.4. MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP

1.4.1. All materials to be supplied shall be new and of high quality and suitable for the location and
purpose. Materials shall be standard products of reputable manufacturers.

1.5. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

1.5.1. Power service: 230 volts, single phase, 3-wire solid neutral 60 hertz.

1.5.2. Wiring methods: All power and control wiring shall be in rigid PVC conduits.

1.5.3. Grounding: Panel boards, raceways, gutters, metallic conduits and other non-current carrying
metal parts of equipment, heaters, motor frames, shall be provided with effective grounding
connection to a grounded cold center pipe.

1.5.4. Main and Branch Feeders: Conductors and complete conduit systems shall be provided as shown
in drawings and no change in sizes shall be made without approval by the Architect or his
authorized representative.

1.5.5. Panel boards: Furnish and installs the electrical panel boards as shown in the plan.

1.5.6. Receptacles, Switches and Outlets:

1.5.6.1. Provide as indicated in drawings, the switches and receptacles with proper cover plates.
Switches shall be of the quiet-matic type, ”NATIONAL” or approved equivalent.

1.5.6.2. Receptacles shall be duplex with proper cover plates, rated 10 Amperes minimum 250
V.A.C, “NATIONAL” or approved equivalent.

1.5.6.3. Lighting outlet at ceiling shall be provided with 4” PVC octagonal box. Connections from
fixture to boxes shall be made by using THHN wires in flexible conduit.

1.5.7. Lighting Fixtures:

1.5.7.1. All special lighting fixtures such as center lighting and wall lamps shall be furnished by the
owner and installed by the contractor. Detail of fixture design when not standard shall be
shown in the Architectural drawings.

1.5.7.2. Fluorescent fixtures, if any, shall be complete set with lamps and ballast of high quality.
Philips, G.E, or approved equal.

1.5.8. Wires and Cables:

1.5.8.1. Wires shall be PHELP DODGE or approved equivalent.

1.5.8.2. No wires shall be drawn into a raceway until it is complete with all necessary fittings, boxes
support. Connections shall be securely fastened such as not to loosen under vibration and
normal strain. All connections, splices shall be made with approved methods.
