Mission Statement:
Free Arts programs inspire hope in the lives of children who have experienced abuse, neglect,
poverty and homelessness through innovative creative arts programs and positive interactions
with caring adult volunteers.

Mission/Purpose:

Their mission and purpose is to restore hope through art by reassuring self esteem and
confidence in children who have experienced abusement, poverty, or neglect. Free Arts focuses
on uplifting those most impacted by injustice and inequality in the Los Angeles community.
They seek to create diversity of inclusion, cultural awareness, and acceptance using art as a
vehicle instead of violence.

Part II:

I chose Free Art because coming from someone who loves to draw and participate in
creative activities, I know that it is a good outlet for distress or loneliness. Art gives the ability to
express one's feelings and in this case it will help the children to draw their emotions through art.
The purpose of Free Arts is to reassure self esteem to children who have been abused, in poverty,
or just neglect. There have been 3.6 million cases of child abuse and about 10,000 children are
abandoned per day in the U.S. The future and longevity of any functioning community is in the
children and the importance of their upbringing is vital for Los Angeles and this is not possible
without nonprofit organizations such as Free Art.
I see myself as a vessel in which I could serve my community through the means of
helping children display their creativity and passion through art. Some ways that I could
personally help this cause is by promoting through social media or telling friends and family.
Another way I could help is by creating a donation fund. In short, Free Art is parallel to my
personal beliefs in helping children who are struggling with any problems through a creative
outlet. The impact this will have on the future generation of children is beyond imagination.
