Hook: G-4.25mm Yarn: Worsted-weight Stitch Marker Blythe Doll

[Button, Thread, and Needle] - for Helmet pattern

Abbreviations

st- stitch ch- chain sc- single crochet hdc- half double crochet ss- slip stitch

inc- increase ( sc twice in the same st ) dec- decrease (hdc in two stitches )

Both hat patterns use the same base pattern so the base pattern will be listed first and then the variations will be
listed below that.

 Base Pattern

Use the magic loop method and sc 6 into the loop, then tighten the loop.

Round 1: 2 sc in each st around (12 stitches)

Round 2: *1 sc, inc 1 continue from * around (18 stitches)

Round 3: *2 sc, inc 1 continue from * around (24 stitches)

Round 4: *3 sc, inc 1 continue from * around (30 stitches)

Round 5: *4 sc, inc 1 continue from * around (36 stitches)

Round 6: *5 sc, inc 1 continue from * around (42 stitches)

Round 7: *6 sc, inc 1 continue from * around (48 stitches)

 Brim Beanie Variation

Row 14: join w/ ss, ch1, sc in front loop of same st, sc 14 in front loops (15 stitches)

Row 15: ch 1, turn, sc 15 (15 stitches)

Round 16: ch1, turn, sc 15, sc in each side st, sc around to other side of brim, sc in each side stitch, join w/ ss.

Finish off and weave in ends. You are now finished with your Brim Beanie. Congrats!

 Crochet Helmet Variation

Round 13: sc around (48 stitches) join w/ ss, ch 2 do not finish off

First we will make the strap part:

Row 1: in the same st as your ss hdc 1, hdc 1 in each of the next four sts

Row 2: Ch 2, turn, hdc 5

Row 3: Ch 2, turn, dec, hdc, dec
Row 4: Ch 2, turn, hdc, dec
Row 5: Ch 2, turn, dec, ch about 15. Finish off and weave in ends.

 Now we will make the flap on the other side of the hat:

Row 1: In opposite side of hat from first strap hdc 5

Row 2: Ch 2, turn, hdc 5
Row 3: Ch 2, turn, dec, hdc, dec
Row 4: Ch 2, turn, hdc, dec

Now we are going to do the confusing part. Feel free to contact me with questions if you have them.
From your last st at the top of the flap, sc down the flap and then sc around to the bottom of the strap 1.

From there you will sc all the way up the strap, ch 5, sc on back side of the original chain (what is now your
strap), sc down the strap. Now you will sc back around to the top of the flap. Finish off and weave in ends.

On the flap sew on your button. You are now finished with your Crochet Helmet. Congrats!
