PERFORMANCE TASK 2

Direction: Identify what curriculum design is being used in your school. Make a short
description to clarify your answer.

ANSWERS:

I believed that the curriculum design used when I was still studying in
college is a combination of Subject centered design model and Learner-
centered design.
It is Subject centered model because it focuses more on the content of the
curriculum, in which the students are enrolled on the indicated subjects per
semester. Just like me, I have to follow enrolling the subjects that are
prescribed and arranged per semester. If I can’t follow it, my status would be
an irregular student. Hence, it also belongs to the specific type called Subject
design. I also considered our curriculum as Discipline design since it does not
only relate to the cluster of content but also it involves on academic disciplines.
For example, for me to become a nurse, I need to study how to provide nursing
care to the clients through studying nursing as a science and nursing as an art.
Hence, I need to take up the subjects or courses that relates to my discipline
or degree program which is Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

It is also specific to Humanistic design because we, student nurses are taught to
understand and interact with our patients/clients and through health assessments, we
would be able to determine their health problems so that we can address or give nursing
interventions in order to facilitate in meeting their health needs employing our tender
loving care, that is to be always humane in meeting the client’s needs. And the act of
providing nursing care to the clients especially for those less fortunate individuals and
families can also provide a great impact to the lives of the nurses because of the feeling
of helping someone makes us happy hence, develop a sense of fulfillment.
