 NARRATIVE REPORT ON BRIGADA ESKWELA 

August 1 – 26, 2022

The school is an institution which is responsible in molding the learners into a

responsible individual in the society. This is where one is crafted into a better person, who
will be an emblemof the kind of learning center where he was raised.The multifarious
concern of school demands working with others to accomplish designed tasksand
objectives. These would need dedicated school personnel, cooperative parents,
accountablecommunity and innovative learners.

Educators believe that environment plays a big part in students’ learning. And so, if
classrooms are not conducive to learning because of poor condition and some defective
school facilities, education is hindered. The Department of Education conducted this year’s
Brigada Eskwela with the theme “Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral”, also known as the
National Schools Maintenance Week (DepEd Memorandum No. 35, s. 2016) on August 1 – 26,
2022 where all education stakeholders contributed their time, effort and resources in
ensuring that the school facilities are ready in time for the school opening. As early as June
2022, Mrs. Janette B. Senarillos, Asst. Principal II and teachers of Cuyab Integrated NHS
recruited volunteers who would participate in the brigade. Parents, school alumni and other
people from the community were encouraged to join the week - long annual program. Since
no national government money was put into Brigada Eskwela, private businesses, NGO’s,
private individuals and local government were tapped to solicit donations to cover the effort
of repair and maintenance of the school. It was on July when the school physical facilities
coordinator and some PTA members performed a school ocular to identify the school
facilities that need repair and maintenance. After this, the steering committee planned
different school’s activities for Brigada Eskwela.

Amidst the pandemic, the growing population of the school is the completion of
school’s facilities to improve the learning status and physical development around the
vicinity of the campus. The goal is to attain quality education faces the strong demand of
meeting the needs of the learners. Yet, it’s a fact to shoulder responsibilities by making the
institution a well-improved destination to visit. 

On August 1, 2022, the opening for Brigada Eskwela was held on the quadrangle of
Cuyab Integrated National High School. It started with the singing of the National Anthem
followed by the Invocation, CALABARZON and San Pedro hymn through an audio-visual
presentation (AVP). The attendees were warmly welcomed and received by the respectable
CINHS main benefactor Mrs. Janette B. Senarillos, Assistant Principal II.

Mrs. Marynell R. Velasco, the Brigada Eskwela Coordinator, initiated the main
program with the orientation about the history and salient features of Brigada Eskwela.
Furthermore, the program was graced with humble messages from the stakeholders: LGUs,
NGOs, the police, private schools, alumni, the church, and GPTA. A representative of Vice

Mayor Divina “Ina” Olivarez delivered a message of thanks and a reminder of the strict
compliance of the COVID-19 protocols. As a follow-up to the health protocols adherence, the
police officers and force multipliers highlighted the importance of safety and security at the
opening of classes.

On welcoming the students back with the Brigada Eskwela kick-off, the neighboring
private schools joined CINHS and delivered a message of gratitude and joy with the
forthcoming reopening of classes. Moreover, the CCF San Pedro Campus Missionary, with its
church representative, promoted their utmost support for the school and the opening.
Alongside the other stakeholders, the GPTA officers and the alumni representative joined
the rest by exchanging their thoughts on strengthening community partnerships to aid the
learning process. Lastly, the CINHS faculty president, Mr. Carmelito D. Francisco, appreciated
and recognized the importance of stakeholders in the education sector and the community
and thanked them. The program ended with the Ceremonial Planting of the primary
stakeholders and the start of the classroom cleaning.

The masters of ceremonies for the program were Ms. Merry Fe M. Gatchalian and
Mrs. Zaiden Mae A. Baltazar. The program was successfully concluded with the help of the
faculty and the technical working groups (TWG): stage decoration/physical facilities (Grade
10), demolition and logistics (Grade 9), sound system and crowd control (TLE Male Teachers
and Mr. Panganiban), documentation (Grade 7), narrative report (SHS department),
program invitation (Grade 8) and the usherettes.

On the following week, the teachers and stakeholders are given weekly task
to accomplish: Week 1, teachers eliminated unnecessary papers from the past school years;

Week 2, on August 12, 2022 was the highlight of the week because it started with the
Brigadance before the teachers and volunteers clean their respective room assignments.

Week 3, repainting of JHS bldg. for better atmosphere and to bring enthusiasm to the face-
to-face learning modality.

And lastly Week 4

August 26, 2022, Friday was the last day of the week – long activity of the Brigada
Eskwela, Mrs. Velasco hold a closing program and give certificates to the teachers and
brigade volunteers. Generally, the school is now ready for the school opening. Evidences for
the week long activity are attached herewith.
