NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE CONDUCT


OF BRIGADA ESKWELA 2023

Introduction:

The Braulio G. Dano Elementary School community gathered once again for
another successful implementation of Brigada Eskwela, a nationwide initiative
aimed at preparing public schools for the opening of classes. This annual event not
only showcases the spirit of bayanihan and volunteerism but also emphasizes the
importance of collaboration among teachers, parents, students, and the local
community. The 2023 Brigada Eskwela was conducted with the theme "Bayanihan
para sa MATATAG na Paaralan."

Preparation Phase:

Several weeks before the actual event, the school's Brigada Eskwela working
committees worked diligently to plan and organize the necessary activities.
Communication letters inviting possible partners and stakeholders were sent.
Meetings were held to discuss the tasks, budget allocation, and the roles and
responsibilities of each stakeholder.

A week before the implementation, advocacy activities were conducted in order to


inform the community of the conduct of Brigada Eskwela. The school planning
team together with the SELG school watch team conducted facilities assessment.

Implementation Phase

Day 1 - August 14, 2023:

The opening ceremony was held with great enthusiasm. Students, parents, teachers,
and community volunteers gathered in the office of the school head to kick off the
week-long event. The school Administrative Officer , Mrs. Jezebel E. Buenacosa,
delivered a warm welcome speech, emphasizing the significance of Brigada
Eskwela in maintaining a conducive learning environment. This was followed by
the orientation of different participating stakeholder on their area of assignment,
schedule, and the nature of work to undertake. A signing of the wall of volunteerism
was also done participated by the stakeholders.

Members of the 512th Engineer Construction Battalion focused on the water system
and conducted repairs on leaking pipelines and faucets. Several Parents also came
and cleaned the outside perimeter area of the school.

Day 2 – August 15, 2023:


The focus for Day 2 was on cleaning of surroundings. Parents and volunteers
brought cleaning materials. They brought tools to ensure areas in School Head’s
Office, Kindergarten, Grade 1 and 2, and CR were cleaned and freed from weeds
and other unnecessary debris.

Day 3 – August 16, 2023:

On this day, surroundings of classrooms of Grade 3 and 4, Grade 5 and 6, Gulayan


sa Paaralan were given priority. Volunteers cleared these areas of overgrown bushes
and debris, cleared old plants in the Gulayan sa Paaralan.

Day 4 – August 17, 2023:

Repairs of school and classroom furniture to which includes tables, armchairs and
desk were conducted. Volunteers with carpentry skills were assigned to this task.
School drainage system was also fixed by the volunteers.

Day 5 – August 18, 2023:

Focus on this day was inside the classrooms, teachers spearheaded the removal of
clutters, signage and other unnecessary decorations deemed not important as per
DepEd guidelines on the conduct of Brigada Eskwela. Volunteers were assigned to
assist in the cleaning inside the classrooms.

Day 6 – August 19, 2023:

The final day of Brigada Eskwela was marked by the conduct of repair of school
temporary fence and transfer of school gate near the school heads office. In the
afternoon, a simple closing ceremony was conducted highlighted by giving of
certificates of appreciation of volunteers for their valuable contributions. Mr. Ralp
D. Liboon, school head expressed her gratitude for the dedication and hard work of
everyone involved in the event.

Conclusion:

The Braulio G. Dano Elementary School Brigada Eskwela 2023 was a resounding
success, exemplifying the true essence of bayanihan and volunteerism. Through the
collaborative efforts of teachers, parents, students, and the local community, the
school was transformed into a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant learning
environment. The event not only enhanced the physical appearance of the school but
also strengthened the bonds within the school community. With the theme
"Bayanihan para sa MATATAG na Paaralan," this year's Brigada Eskwela instilled
a sense of responsibility, unity, and pride among all participants, reinforcing the
school's commitment to providing quality education for the students of Braulio G.
Dano Elementary School.
