A Lover’s Kit For Killing

Scene 1 – INT: CANTEEN - MIDDAY

Sitting in the canteen is ELLIOT, his girlfriend JOSIE and her friend PHEOBE. They are
enjoying their lunch in the middle of the day at college. JOSIE eventually excuses herself to
go to talk to someone. JOSIE is checking her phone for something and PHEOBE is drawing
on some piece of paper.

JOSIE
Oh shit, I have homework due for next period and I haven’t even started it yet.
I’m gonna head to the library for the rest of lunch.

ELLIOT
You want me to come with you, babe ?

JOSIE
(Hugging ELLIOT) No, no, stay here and finish your lunch. Kay, bye. Bye
Pheebs.

PHEOBE
(looking up) Bye Josie.

ELLIOT and PHEOBE watch JOSIE leave the canteen and get back to what they were doing.
Until ELLIOT sees what PHEOBE drew on the piece of paper she had. On it had her and
Josie’s initials and hearts around it. The bell goes and they stand. PHEOBE drops the paper
from her notebook and hurries to her class, leaving ELLIOT to pick up the paper. Before
heading to his own class

Scene 2 – EXT: LEAVING THE COLLEGE – AFTERNOONN

The bell goes again. ELLIOT follows PHEOBE to an ally by the college before grabbing her
and pushing her against the wall.

PHEOBE
EL what the hell is wrong with you?!

ELLIOT
(Showing the folded paper in the air) This! This is my problem. What you
have a little crush in my girlfriend huh?

PHEOBE
No, it’s nothing Elliot, Just bored. I don’t- I don’t mean anything by it. I
promise.

ELLIOT
Don’t you dare lie to me.
 PHEOBE
(annoyed) So what if I have a crush on her? You jealous. You think she’ll
leave you for me?

ELLIOT
Shut up! She’d never leave me for you.

PHEOBE
We’ll see about that.

ELLIOT grabs PHEOBE by the front of her coat and pulls her towards him and spinning.
Throwing her onto the ground.

ELLIOT
I said SHUT. UP.

No response from PHEOBE.

ELLIOT
Pheobe?

ELLIOT walks up to PHEOBE laying on front with her eyes closed. He bends down to try
and wake her holding her head before he sees the blood staining his hand and the side of her
face.

ELLIOT
Oh shit- PHEOBE!

Scene 3 – INT: BATHROOM – EARLY EVENING

He moves to grab his bag and runs into the woods before running inside and locking himself
in the bathroom. Breathing heavy and trying to wash his hands. He looks up and sees
PHEOBE standing behind him. She stands not saying a word, but disappears when he turns to
face her.

Scene 4 – INT: CLASSROOM/HALLWAY – MORNING FEW DAYS LATER

ELLIOT and JOSIE are walking through the hallway. Before JOSIE notices something
wrong with ELLIOT.

JOSIE
Are you ok? You haven’t spoken much since we found out about Pheobe?

ELLIOT
(Looking down at his hands) Yeah im ok. Just thinking about who could’ve
done this to her. Um I need to go bathroom, I’ll see you later.
ELLIOT was powerwalking down the hallway until he reached an empty space and leaned
with his back against the wall, wiping his face with his hands.

PHEOBE
(Smiling) Hey El.
 ELLIOT
(gasping and looking around the now empty hallway)
Pheebs? Oh my God, I am so sorry Pheobe.

PHEOBE
(angry) Save your apologies for someone who gives a crap!

ELLIOT
What do you want from me then?

PHEOBE
You killed me, Elliot. Why is it only me who get’s to die.

PHEOBE pulls a rock out from behind her back, similar to one that killed her. Looks at
ELLIOT and starts laughing again.

ELLIOT
Pheobe please no. I didn’t mean to hurt you.

PHEOBE
I know you didn’t. But it happened. C’mon it’s only fair, right?

ELLIOT
(Runs away)

PHEOBE
(Muttering) Really.

PHEOBE walks towards the direction ELLIOT ran and kicked the door open to the closed the
door. ELLIOT was crouching by a table and holding an arm up.

ELLIOT
You don’t need to do this Pheebs. Please don’t do this.

PHEOBE
Well not yet I don’t, I want you to do something first.

ELLIOT
What?
PHEOBE
Call Josie and confess to her what you did.

ELLIOT
No. She’ll hate me.

PHEOBE
Doesn’t matter you’ll be dead soon.

ELLIOT
 (hey it’s Josie leave a message) Voicemail,

PHEOBE
Then leave her a voicemail. Use your brain.

ELLIOT
Hey Josie, I’m sorry, the reason ive been avoiding you is because I know what
happened TO Pheobe. It was me. I killed her.

PHEOBE takes the phone from ELLIOT and ends the calls on JOSIE.

PHEOBE
Now it’s your time.

END OF SCENE
Recording of the door outside and the sound of someone’s head getting smashed in. Maybe a
blood splatter on the window.
Dead ELLLIOT on the floor and no PHEOBE to be found.
