Social Welfare Policy

Social welfare policy is the laws, acts, and rules that have been put in place to help the

community co-exist with each other well. The citizens elect the government and it is supposed to

dispense its duties fairly (Stern & Axinn, 2018). One of the duties of the government is to ensure

that it protects its citizens from harm. When citizens have an excellent working conditions, they

will be able to conduct their business and operations well. If there is peace and stability in a

country, the citizens will be able to go about their businesses, and the country's economy will

improve.

Social welfare programs have goals that help ensure that the community benefits from the

goals. The goals have also been intersected with the goals of the larger society. The first goal of

social welfare policy is to enhance economic development (Ni, n.d.). It designs programs and

which will increase the production of goods and services. These goods and services help in

developing the economy. The members of the larger society will head these programs and they

will be able to distribute out work.

Another goal of social welfare policy is to ensure social democracy and social justice

prevails when giving out work. The most neglected, underappreciated, and dependent will be

recognized in society when there is social justice (Ni, n.d.). The government will direct the

scarce resources to them. The government will empower the community through this since a

section has been taken care of.

The final goal of social welfare policy is to act as social control. People in society have

been neglected, needy, and come from disadvantaged groups. These people may decide to lash

out at society since they are not treated well (Ni, n.d.). Social welfare policy helps ensure that

good laws and acts are passed that will help look at the interests of these types of people. In
conclusion, social welfare policies play a vital role in protecting individuals from poverty. These

policies help in uplifting people.
