Applicant
A. The Assigned Unit
IAN A. BONANZA

I was assigned in Technical department of the FIRST OPTION ELECTRONICS

SYSTEM PHILS INC... In this department we don’t have office or working station, we

will be sent by the company somewhere around in manila depends on the clients

location.

In this department there are many types of work we do like Installing, Preventive

maintenance, Re-wiring and troubleshooting depends on the clients work request. Every

time there is a project, the company sent there men depend on the location of their

clients. Every project composes of two men, the “Lead man” and the “Helper”. But

depends on the project if it is in rush but normally it composed only of two men.

Lead Man is the one who’s in-charge in the project. They are the one who will mandate

what to do. They are the representative of the company. They are the one who will

report to contractors or In-charge in the site about the progress of the project.

Helper they are the one who’s going to assist or help the Lead man on the project. They

are the helping hand of the lead man to finish the project.
SHERWIN F. ATIENZA

During my OJT I am assigned in the Technical Department, we are not required to work

in office just because we are assigned in different sites based on company clients and

we are accompanied by senior technicians. In this department we install CCTV (Close

Circuit Television), FDAS (Fire Detector and Alarm System), PM (Preventive

Maintenance), traffic light, Intercom (International Communication) and other security

systems. Most of the time the senior technicians do this job. Me as an OJT I assist the

senior technicians to do the job and we follow what we order to us and if we already

know what to do our lead man allows us to do it. CCTV (Close Circuit Television

System)

LLOYD T. LLENA

The system I was handled is more on CCTV (Close Circuit Television System).

This system was hard to install because there a lot of process of installing this system

which is the Lay outing, Wirings, Mounting of Camera, Power Up, Mounting of Hard

Drive, placement of Monitors and DVRs, Viewing and Focusing.

FDAS (Fire Detector and Alarm System) And Smoke Detector

FDAS and Smoke Detector System are used for fire security. This is the second

system that was assigned to me. This system is hard to install because there’s plenty of

wires connected, and it is more complicated than CCTV. Because the smoke detector

have a 5 wires which are the Positive In and Positive Out, Grounds, and the Bell.
B. The Duties/Tasks Assigned

IAN A. BONANZA

As an electronics technology student. I was assigned in technical department as

a technician in the First Option Electronics System Phil Inc. at Ortigas Extension, Pasig

City. Our duty is to assist or help the Lead man technician in the assigned project. In our

case we don’t have permanent project to work on because the company are letting us to

explore each work that they have assigned. The jobs that I’ve done are the following:

 Installing of CCTV

 Installing of FDAS(fire Detector and Alarm System)

 Preventive Maintenance

 Lay outing

 Re-wiring

 Installing of Traffic Light

Each job was not that easy that I was thought, at first I expect that I will stay on the

office doing repairing and troubleshooting of the defective devices of the company. But

then when our day started me and my classmates departed in every site that we are

assigned. Luckily the staff of the company are friendly and not difficult to be with. So I’ve

learned better and gain new skills that I can use in the future.

SHERWIN F. ATIENZA

My duties and responsibilities in the company that I am assigned are preventive

maintenance where we clean the devices, troubleshooting where we are repairing the
devices such as panel, monitor and other components, wiring where we connect the

devices from each other, installation where we install the CCTV’s, monitor and FDAS,

make a loop in this responsibility we winding a wire most of the time this component

used in traffic lights and lastly line tracing in this we find the correct wire for the specific

station.

LLOYD T. LLENA

*MAINTENANCE

Preventive Maintenance of Paging System

*REPAIR

Troubleshoot and Repair of the Main and Sub Amplifier of the Paging system

*INSTALATION

Installation of CCTVs, Hard Drives, Smoke Detectors, Speakers for Paging

System and FDAS.

C. An Assessment of the On-The-job training experience in terms of:

1. Reflections/Insights gained about the actual operations of Industrial

workplace/government offices.

IAN A. BONANZA
Being part of First Option Electronics System Phils Inc. was a great experience.

We felt that we are warmed welcome to be part of their company. each staff are friendly

which you can rely on them if you have a problem. What I’ve observed inside the

company is that they are not just an organization but as a family. In terms in work you

can see the professionalism in them. They are hardworking and dedicated to their work.

What I’ve learn while I’m in the company is we must minimize tardiness and

absentees. All of can’t avoid this kind of situation, so at least we must minimize it.

Because it can affect your work, it can cause delays in your project and it may affect the

good image of the company.

One thing that I’ve observe in the company is, too much closeness of the “Lead

Man” and the “Helper” .the man that assist the “lead man” on the project. the helper

sometimes don’t recognize whose in-charge in the project. They lost respect to each

other.

SHERWIN F. ATIENZA

The FIRST OPTION ELECTRONICS SYSTEM PHILS. INC. has a good bonding

to each other and a friendly employee. In terms of work they make sure the job is clean

and presentable. Also they make sure that the Engineer will not disappointed to

supervisor the one who make it. I learn something from one of the supervisor that if the

boss is mad at you or let say the boss tell you something that not good to your ears,

don’t quit and prove it to your boss that you have what it takes and you’re not weak.
LLOYD T. LLENA

The experience was gave on me during the training was good, meaningful and

useful. Because there's a lot of knowledge was gained, and skills was more improve

than before. It helps personality to be more responsibility in time, and in given

tasks/projects.

2. New development of skills/competencies acquired in the course of training

IAN A. BONANZA

During my On-the-Job training program in the First Option Electronics System

Phil Inc. I’ve learn new skill that the never taught in the school. The skills that I’ve are

Installing CCTV, Traffic Light and Lay outing. Since I was a electronics students, I’ve

expecting that we are more focus on troubleshooting and repairing defective devices.

When the day started I was shock that we’ve been sent in different parts of Manila. Our

job has a mix of electrical matters. But somehow thanks to that. I’ve learn new

skills/competencies that I can use in the future.

SHERWIN F. ATIENZA

The new development of skill that I’ve learns are the following:

 Installation

 Wiring

 Preventive Maintenance

 Troubleshooting

 lay outing
3. Usefulness of other technological Courses

IAN A BONANZA

The usefulness of other technological Courses are important because not all

what we’ve learn in the school in not the same in the real industry. for example, in the

First Option Electronic System Phils Inc. where we have our On-the-job training.

We’ve expected that we are more on electronics repairing and troubleshooting. But we

have done is more on electrical matters.

SHERWIN F. ATIENZA

The other technological courses helps to the training program of the student-trainee by

means of gaining knowledge that somehow related to the course of the student-trainee.

They also acquire new skills and learned how to communicate with their co-workers that

would help the student-trainee with their future work or job.

4. What he/she like best and least in the training program?

IAN A. BONANZA

Best: what I’ve like the best part on having our training program is, having new

skills/competencies and friends. The experience that can help in the future and most of

all we have our allowances that may help us on our daily living there.

Least: travelling in far sites and Heavy traffic.

SHERWIN F. ATIENZA

My likes are installing devices, friendly employees, reimbursable transportation,

allowance and they trust us and my dislikes are traffic, long distance travel and work

under construction building.

D. Recommendations

*COMPANY-Be more concerned in their employees especially in traveling to their

different and respective site.

*SCHOOL-Give students more and enough time to comply all the knowledge needed.

*STUDENTS-Be more responsible in their works and there time.

Nov.22-Dec 1, 2016

It was our first day in the company; each of us has an assigned project. And I

was at the Makati Executive Tower 4 (MET4). Our job is to install Traffic Light in the

parking lot. I’ve stay there a week before I assigned to another project.

Dec 2-14, 2016

Today I was re-assigned at the Oriental Garden Makati (OGM). Our job there is

to troubleshoot some defective CCTV.

Dec 15-28

Today i was re-assigned at The Manila Residence II (TMR II). Our job there is to

install CCTV. For the first time, I’m with my classmate Lloyd and Sherwin in the same

project. we are rarely go with each other in the same project. What we do in there is, we

work on the rising. In this we put Cable wires from 40 th floor down to 3rd floor. It takes a

week to finish it. And we also put BNC (Balun Network Connector) on each floor. But

suddenly I’ve never finish the project because of I’ve been pull out in the project and re-

assigned again in to another project.

Dec 29-Jan 16,2016

Today I was re-assigned on another project. from TMR to LV Locsin. Today my

Lead man was Sir Cyril. I’m with for almost two weeks. What we do in there is to re-wire

the FDAS ( Fire Detector and Alarm System) Indicators. We started from 19 th floor down

to the basement 1 where the panel is there.

Jan 17- Feb 10. 2017

Again I was re-assigned to another project. from LV Locsin to North Residence.

This time I’ve with sir Jhun. The site is still under construction, at first I don’t like there

because it is dusty and it doesn’t have elevator to use going up. What we do is we used

stairs going up to 28th floor. I always complaining because I can’t resist going up

everyday using on the stairs. But then, as the day pass by im getting to used to it. The

project in the North residence was to install FDAS. We wire and install the devices in

each floor.

Feb. 11-22, 2017

Today I was re assigned again in another project. from north residence to Marilao

Bulacan. I was with sir Cyril. The wiring and lay outing in the site are already finished.

So what we is we just install the devices. Like the FDAS, Speaker and the Fire alarm.

SHERWIN F ATIENZA

First day of our OJT in First Option Electronics System Phil. Inc. November 21,

2016 at 9:00 AM they orient us all about their company, what security they install and

how it works. At the afternoon they said that we come back to pass a 1x1 picture as our

company ID. November 22, 2016 we went to office and accompanied by our adviser Mr.

Jay-r M. Ballon to visit us and the company. Then after we met our supervisors that we

accompanied in the site and I assigned in Makati at City Land Pasong tamo. We got in

Makati almost 11 o’clock, when we got to our site we take our lunch before we start to

work. At 1 o’clock our supervisor commanded us to clean the FDAS (Fire Detector and
Alarm System), the bell or buzzer and the MPS (Manual pull Station) using the liquid

cleaner from ground floor to 36 floor and we did it for 2 days. Then at Thursday we PM

(Preventive Maintenance) the CCTV (Close Circuit Television), we clean the lens of the

camera. All the CCTV from first floor of Residential, Commercial, outside of the building

and also at the parkinglot we. In the monitoring room we clean the monitor, FDAS panel

and the DVR (Digital Video Recorder) and we finish it till Saturday morning because in

the afternoon the supervisors need to report to their boss what they’ve done in this

week. Another week I assigned in other site which is Centrex it is located at Shaw, we

work there is lay outing installing an EMT and junction box for the wiring of the FDAS.

Another day, sir Jerry Buyan one of our supervisor told me that sir Harold one of the

newest supervisor need an assistant at Bay Garden it is located at Pasay.

We troubleshoot many disabled CCTV’s like wavy video and video lost. We

tested the power supply if there still have a supply if have not we replace it a new power

supply. Then after we troubleshoot the CCTV’s we clean it all the cameras of the

building and the DVR, then another day we continue what we did not finished.

December 8, 2016 I went to the office just to ask our manager sir Efren what was my

next destination, then he said that I accompanied to our helper at TMR Tower II which

located at Vito Cruz, Manila. Then after they get the materials then we travel to our site,

at 10:30AM we got there. After we rest a little time we started to do their work and I'll

assist them. We take our lunch at 12 o'clock then rest a little time, at 1 PM we started to

work again and I work with my co-OJT Lloyd Llena then we work and they call it knock

out we work it from 30 floor to 3rd floor. Then another day, I accompanied to my co-OJT

and supervisor to work, we made them is wiring in the 40 floor and Pent House we work
there for the whole day. In the following day I helped one of the helper and his name is

Mr. Lowie to make a hole in the wall in electrical room for ducting and to insert the wire

inside the electrical room. After that I’m with Mr. Jam-jam in the afternoon and we install

BNC in the 36 floor. Monday December 12, 2016 same venue and same assigned site,

what we do is that we install BNC in the 40 floor until 33 floor and we do that for the

whole day with Mr. Goc-ong and Mr. Jerald one of the trainee of First Option. Tuesday

we continue the installation of BNC from 33 floor until 25 floor. I’m with Mr. Goc-ong and

Mr. Ian Bonanza during the installation and we do that again for the whole day,

unfortunately we do the installation for the whole week. On the following week Monday

December 19, 2016 we have new job and that is homerun, we call it homerun because

we need to bring the coaxial in the monitoring room and it depends on how many

CCTV’s are installed. On that day we start in 40 th floor and Pent House, and we install

16 CCTV’s there and also 16 coaxial to bring down in the monitoring room. And we do

that until December month ends and by January we finish the homerun. After we finish

the homerun the next thing we do is splicing the riser and in the camera.

After that we have 220V wire and again we drop a wire from 40 th floor down to 3rd

floor and that is for the supply. In the following the CCTV’s, monitor, and DVR has been

delivers in TMR, now that there’s a camera me and Mr. John Rey, together we install

the CCTV in the parking lot. In the following week I’ve been assigned in City Net it’s

located in the Shaw Boulevard there we install CCTV, Traffic Light and Inter Com. My

first week in my new assigned site is that we drop a wire for intercom. On the following

week same site, what we do there is we organized the already homerun wire from top.

Also we do ducting, cable tree, rack and traffic light. Last February 15, 2017 I’m with Mr.
Edison one of my supervisor and he commanded me to paint the scaffolding with him

and the following day my supervisor allow me to paint the scaffolding on my own, I do it

in the rooftop because our boss told that. February 17, 2017 what we do is looping for

traffic light in City Net. The procedure for looping is that we need to wind a wire for 5

turns using TF wire and the size is 18 then the length is 1x19 feet and also 1x13 feet,

estimated looping for the whole day is 6 loop. Saturday same process and we

accomplish 7 loops. February 19, 2017 we are assigned in North Edsa near Munoz and

we assigned for just three days and I’m with Lloyd Llena, Sir Jun and Sir Paul John and

outside the perimeter we do wiring in FDAS also inside the unit. And this February 25,

2017 were going back to our province and I’m with Ian.

LLOYD T. LLENA

In November 21 my team reports in the office of FOES for the orientation. The

admin, staff, president of the company orient us of what company they have and what

duties and task will perform. In the afternoon we go back in the company to pass the

entire requirement.

November 22 to February 10 I was assigned in 1 site which is in the Taft Avenue

Metro Manila the building is The Manila Residence Tower II. The system installed was

the CCTV or Close Circuit Television System. The task is very hard because of the long

distance site, and it is hassle to traffic. The task I handled is lay outing, wiring, installing

and troubleshooting.

February 13 to February 28 I was assigned in North Residence in North Edsa.

The task is making a layout for the wirings of FDAS and wirings of it.
March 1 - March 5 I was assigned in Marilao Bulacan theres a lot of system that

will install in that site. FDAS, CCTV and PAGING SYSTEM, that task is dificult because

we will be wiring it before we install the device.
