your point/stand. Use blue book for your answers.

1. Physiological Needs – The most basic needs of a human being to keep his body healthy. Good
examples of this are food, water, warmth, and rest. Without the procurement of this, an
individual won’t be able to reach the second level.
2. Security and Safety Needs – This need talks about the safety and security of our physical
body, our economic status, our physical, mental, and emotional health, and security of our
possessions.
3. Affiliation or Acceptance Needs – This need pertains to our need for social connection and
acceptance from other people such as with our family, friends, boyfriend or girlfriend.
4. Self-Esteem Needs – This need refers to our need to have self-confidence/self-esteem by
means of achievements in life, and earning the respect of others.
5. Need for Self-Actualization – This is the highest among all the needs of the individual. It
pertains to the need of man to acquire special attributes to make himself feel fulfilled. Such
attributes are morality, creativity, lack of prejudice, and acceptance of facts.
In all the activities and programs that will take place inside the school, the following are the steps on
how me, a lead implementer of School-Based Management, and my team of competent teachers will
prepare for it.

a. Planning – First, I’ll make sure that I will plan ahead of time to avoid delays and unnecessary stress.
Next, I will be setting my clear goals and objectives for the upcoming activity to ensure that it will be
beneficial. Third, I will be listing all the needed materials and resources to avoid any amount of wasted
fund. Next, I will assign people who will help me and I will form a team which will be divided into
different groups with different tasks respectively.

b. Mobilizing/Advocacy – I will use all the means of communication to spread the information about the
upcoming event so that more interested people will join. Traditional and digital public announcements
by the use of social media will be both utilized for faster transfer of the message.

c. Programming – In this part, I will make sure that the sequence of events in the program will run
smooth as much as possible. I will tap all the involved people and remind them to prepare their part of
the program to avoid any inconveniences.
d. Budgeting - I will personally manage the budget proposal for the upcoming event. I will make sure
that all the materials and resources needed will be purchased to avoid any inconvenience. I’ll uphold the
value of honesty and I will be transparent about all the transactions I made to purchase the needs.

e. Implementation – During the implementation, it is important that I supervise the activity and make
sure that all the things we planned are being executed well.

f. Monitoring – Me and my team will be keen observant while the activity is taking place and note all the
observations and useful data on a notebook for the evaluation.

g. Evaluation – Each participant of the activity will be given forms that they have to answer with
sincerity and full honesty. This will help us see what particular area we excelled and what we need to
improve next time.

h. Reporting – In reporting the result of the evaluation, data will be showed with accuracy to make sure
that they are reliable and can be used to plan better on the next activity.

3. Mr. Emil Ilagan was highly recommended by the city mayor to work in your school. He was a
graduate of management of the city university where the mayor himself is the president. His
transcript of records shows that he is an average student. His mother happens to be a political
supporter of the mayor. He underwent your office screening and barely passed due to his poor
communication skills.

Just to give in to the recommendation of the mayor as a human resource manager in your own
right, you gave him a position in the property section of the school and not a data encoder position
that the mayor would like him to have. He did not want to accept the position and was insistent to get
the job as recommended by the mayor.

What will you do and what reasons will you tell the mayor so that he will not feel insulted
with his recommendation?

 To the mayor, I will humbly ask him to talk about the matter constructively. Also, I will
explain to him that our school upholds high standards of employees’ competency
particularly the communicating skill because they primarily use communication in
expressing their thoughts and in giving stakeholders information. Without an excellent
communication skill, it would be harder for Mr. Ilagan to express what’s in his mind and
this will eventually affect the school’s reputation as a whole. But to put a good note, I
will tell him that I will give Mr. Ilagan time to polish his communication skill and once he
proved that he is already qualified, the position will be given to him without any
hesitation.
4. What are the barrier/blocks to effective communication and cite a specific example of action to
overcome each.

 Social Barrier – The receiver is anti-social.

o Counter: Spend more time with the person to make her comfortable with me.
 Psychological Barrier- The receiver is too shy.
o Counter: Start with small talks and use probing questions.
 Cultural Barrier – The speaker is ethnocentric
o Counter: Listen to the speaker with an open mind to avoid arguments.
 Physiological Barrier – The speaker has physical difficulties
o Counter: Think of alternative ways to communicate if the person has physical
speech difficulty.
 Physical Barrier – The place is very noisy and there’s lots of uncontrollable distractions
o Counter: Choose a more silent place which is conducive for casual conversation.

5. How can you make your school effective and eventually for PAASCU and PACUCOA Accreditation?

 PAASCU and PACUCOA are both associations which ensure that all the students get
the quality education they deserve to be globally competitive in the 21 st century.
Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) is a
private, voluntary, non-profit and non-stock corporation that accredits academic
programs which meet standards of quality education.
On the other hand, Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on
Accreditation is a private accrediting agency which gives formal recognition to an
educational institution by attesting that its academic program maintains excellent
standards in its educational operations, in the context of its aims and objectives.
By orienting all the faculties about the standards of PAASCU and PACUCOA
Accreditation and by making sure we practice them in our day to day work individually
and as a team, I can confidently say that their approval will be possible.
