Controls Measures:
 The erection crew will adhere to safety measures to be followed prior, during, and
after the erection by wearing safety gadgets.
 Providing safety tapes to isolate the area of erection.
 Adhere to barricades, warning lights or signs to safeguards traffic in immediate area of
hoisting and handling operations.
 The erection area must be cleared off foe any overhead obstructions for the crane
 All personnel should be outside the drop zone when lifting/tilting the elements/panels
and rotating it from horizontal to vertical except those who are actively engaged in the
erection of the element.
 No attempt should be made to lift and erect elements/panels in strong wind/rain where
control of the element may be lost.
 Adequate edge protection should be providing when working on heights.

Information, instruction and training:


 Training of riggers, erectors, crane operators shall be arranged through specialized
training institutes.
 The specialized contractor should be fully briefed about all control measures in place.
 Element weight shall be clearly marked on the element.
 Lifting hardware shall be compatible with the product lifting inserts.
 Prior to start of work, and during erection, a competent person shall make regular
surveys of site conditions to determine potential hazards, both physical and
personnel hazard and safeguards necessary to install precast concrete in a safe
manner.
Emergency procedures:
 First aid should be available.
 Identify the first aid representative.
 Location of emergency phone numbers and addresses of nearby
Doctors, ambulances, hospitals, police fire department.
 Location and proper use of fire extinguishers.
Monitoring procedures:
 Supervisors should ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the safe
systems of work outlined in safety method statement.
 Other workers ,supervisors, should be monitored to ensure they do not
obstruct or distract the erection team.
 Inspection should be done after the completion of erection
