Review the W12 Writing Lesson: Transitions. Then answer each of the following questions.

1. What prompt question are you going to answer in your persuasive essay
due in Week 13? Check ONE.

believe anger is a choice, or should it be considered a primary emotion? Why or why
not?

not?

2. What is your thesis statement? (should only be one sentence)

Example: My spiritual and secular study as well as my own life experience has taught me
that life callings can change as spiritual gifts and needs in the world change.

My experiences and my spiritual beliefs as give me the conviction that everyone coming
on eath will not be coming with the same amount of potential

3. What is your topic sentence for the first body paragraph? (should only be one
sentence and should contain a transitional phrase)

Example: Above all, my scripture study as well as the words of latter-day prophets have
taught me that life callings can change based on spiritual gifts and current needs in the
world.

The social and spiritual experience as taught me that we all born on a purpose and base
on this purpose we should have different amount of potential.
4. What is your topic sentence for the second body paragraph? (should only be
one sentence and should contain a transitional phrase)

Example: In addition to my spiritual study, my secular study of the life calling also supports
this notion that callings are born at the intersection of spiritual gifts and need in the world.

Based on knowledge on spiritual texts and researches I can be encouraged to support


that each person can come to earth with different amount of potential bases on
circumstances of life.

5. What is your topic sentence for the counterargument paragraph? (should


only be one sentence and should contain a counterargument “cue phrase” transition)

Example: Many people, at one time or another, have felt that their failure to act on certain
opportunities has somehow caused them to miss out on what should have been their calling
in life.

So many people think the fact that everybody or almost, get on earth with the basic
aptitude, like think, learn, experienced things, that give them access to the exact same
amount of potential on life as everybody.
