How did the instructor demonstrate organization of the subject matter?
Lily was very organized. She started with an overview of COPD then honed in on the focus of providing palliative
care to patients with COPD. This transitioned naturally to the journal review. The content of the material was on
the heavier side, and next time having fewer objectives and text on the slides would further improve clarity.

Varied explanations for complex and difficult
material, using examples to clarify points 5

What were the most and least helpful things the instructor did to communicate effectively?
There was a statistics review prior to interpreting the prognostic tool, which was an excellent way to ensure all
audience members were able to understand and appreciate how the tool can be used in different clinical
scenarios. Lily was enthusiastic and made the talk personable by sharing why she was interested in this topic.
C. Interaction with Participants 1 2 3 4 5 NA

Responds to nonverbal cues of confusion, boredom,
and curiosity NA
Encourages student questions or discussion; asks
questions to monitor student progress 5
Listens to students' questions and comments 5+
Gives satisfactory answers to student questions,
restating questions and answers when needed 5
How did the instructor show interest in the students and their learning?
The session was on zoom. Lily encouraged interaction and questions by answering comments in the chat and
facilitating a lively discussion after her talk. Indeed, there were some difficult questions being asked and Lily both
moderated and answered questions, incorporating active listening and encouragement of further dialogue.

organization and major points 4
Presents helpful written materials to reinforce key points NA
To what extent did the instructor vary the instructional methods for the material presented?
What other methods might have been appropriate?
Lily used colours including a blue box to highlight key points on her slides, and used graphs and tables in her
presentation to display information in a varied manner. The instructional method felt very appropriate and was
effective in delivering the content material. Other methods may include using images, increasing white/empty
space, and audience interactive activities.

5/5 Overall. Lily did an excellent job presenting a content heavy talk in a clear and approachable manner to a large group from a variety of clinical
backgrounds. Her presentation demonstrated her thorough preparation and understanding of the topic. She was engaging and facilitated a dynamic
audience Q and A session after her talk, where audience members were clearly comfortable and encouraged to participate. Great job, Lily!
