Teaching Dates February 16, 2023/Thursday Quarter 3rd

Day:
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding on the properties of solids, liquids, gases based on
the particles nature in matter.
B. Performance Standards The learners should be able to draw matter according to its particles.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives Write the LC The learners should be able to:
code for each a. Infer from given situations or observable events what matter is made of; and
b. Explain how these observable situation or events give evidence that matter is made
up of tiny particles.

II. CONTENT UNIT III: The particles and nature of matter

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

lesson -Let the students recall their idea about matter
B. Establishing a purpose or presenting the new lesson Let the students identify the objectives for the day

C. Presenting examples / instances of new lesson Let the students recall some ideas when they heard the term matter

2. Clarification about the activity

#2
F. Developing mastery (Leads to Formative Presentation of outputs
Assessment 3) Checking of the answers
G. Finding practical applications of concepts and skills Why do you think knowing matter is important?
of daily living
H. Making Generalizations and abstractions about  Particles – building blocks of matter
lesson  Atom is the smallest particle of an element that possess the properties of all the
elements
 Democritus believed that atoms are indestructible and completely full, so there is no
empty space
 Aristotle rejected the idea about atom, he proposed the basic elements fire, earth,
water, air.
 John Dalton presented concrete evidence that matter is made of very small particles
called atoms.
