SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

The researchers in this study assessed the effects of YouTube videos in the

vocabulary skills of the students. After extracting the data from the 8 studies, the

researchers were able to generate Mean, Standard Deviation and the Sample size of

the study. These studies were then run in the RevMan 5.4 software and enabled the

accumulation of the following values, 15.1% was the greatest study weight produced by

the study, Heterogeneity level of the all studies combined generated 63% and the over-

all effect was 5.88 with a p value of 0.00001.

The greatest study weight indicates the study had the greatest impact in the

over-all effect. The high level of Heterogeneity signifies high level of variance among the

students. The reviewed papers were varied in terms of sample size, type of students

and the outcomes. This implies that the studies included in this meta-analysis are not

sufficient enough to conclude the effectiveness of YouTube videos to the vocabulary

skills of the students. Finally, the over-all effects of p-value of 0.00001, denotes that

when all studies are pooled together, the result is statistically significant.

The significant difference which favors the use of intervention over the

traditional method is an evident in the forest plot (Figure 2). It implies the overall effect

size of the study which favors the experimental group because the horizontal line (95%

CI) did not cross the line of null effect.

Conclusion
Recommendations

Considering the result of the analysis and to improve the variability, it is recommended
