Continuous Assessment (CA): There are two CAs will be given to assess the knowledge and
commitment of the students' learning process.

CA-I: Critical Review of a Given Article

Course participants will work in a small group (Maximum six members) as assigned by
the program) to present a review of an article. The group will be responsible for a 15-
minute in-class presentation on an article in which all members are expected to perform
an equal role and 05 minutes for a feedback session. The article for a group will be
uploaded after session -1.
The objective of this assessment is to discuss the learning points of the assigned article.
Aside from outlining the author's arguments, the student group should also try to connect
these ideas from the practices in the industry by an entrepreneur to determine how they
relate to the possible applications within the Sri Lankan context. The students are
expected to come prepared with a few PowerPoint slides that guide, summarize, and
enhance their in-class effort and boost the discussion. The students must also prepare
their article review as a report plus the learning points they gathered throughout the
discussion and submit it to the LMS on the deadline. The oral presentation carries 15
marks, and the report carries 10 marks. The report should be submitted on the
same day of the presentation (Hard copy and soft copy).

Students are expected to do the presentation onwards from the 5th of March (two
groups in a week according to the group number). Each group should submit the written
report following the weekend of their presentation to the LMS.

CA – 2: Presenting a case study of a selected Sri Lankan Entrepreneur in the SME
sector and preparing a Business model (Business Plan) for their Growth
Sustainability– A Written Report (15 Marks)

Each group will select a Sri Lankan entrepreneur in the SME sector and study the
historical background of the selected entrepreneur to understand the current status of the
enterprise development with sufficient breadth and depth. Then, identify the issues,
suggest a business model, and prepare the business plan for the entrepreneur for his/her
sustainable development. Each group will need to prepare a 20-25 paged report. The
report should be written to introduce the enterprise, understand the entrepreneurial
characteristics, the market analysis, critically evaluate the suggested business model and
the business plan with required components, a conclusion, and the bibliography. The
students will be evaluated based on the scholarship reflected in this work. The deadline
for the Written Report Submission is the 21st of May, 2023. The presentations will
take place on the 28th of May, 2023.

4
Late submission policy

The students are permitted to submit their assignments a maximum of another five working days
after the due date with the penalty of reduced marks. The penalty of late submission maybe 1
mark for each working day with a maximum of 5 marks. The lecturer should accept no
assignment submitted after this late submission period for marking. If any student requires more
than five working days to submit the assignment for a reason acceptable to the Faculty, he or she
should request that well in advance.

Academic misconduct, cheating and plagiarism

Plagiarism is the presentation of another academic work without acknowledging it appropriately.

Whether one presents another's academic work as one's own intentionally or unintentionally, it is
considered academic misconduct. Direct quotation and paraphrasing should be acknowledged
appropriately, i.e. an in-text citation and referencing following the APA style guide. Even with
acknowledgment, the portion of presentation of another's academic work in a given assignment
should be limited, and the limit may vary from one assignment to another.
