Fig6: Comparison Table of telescopic cascode and folded cascode design on the basis of output swing,
gain, bandwidth and power dissipation

Comparison of telescopic cascode and folded cascode on various parameters:

Output Swing: Telescopic cascode offers a larger output swing than the folded cascode.

Gain: Both the telescopic cascode and folded cascode offer high gain, but the gain of the folded cascode is
slightly lower due to the additional stage in the signal path.

Bandwidth: The telescopic cascode offers a wider bandwidth than the folded cascode due to the absence of
the additional stage in the signal path. However, the folded cascode can be designed with a wider bandwidth
by using a wider transistor and higher bias current.

Power Dissipation: The folded cascode generally requires less power dissipation than the telescopic cascode
due to the smaller number of transistors in the signal path. Overall, the choice between telescopic cascode and
folded cascode depends on the specific application and design requirements.

For example, if a wider bandwidth is required, the telescopic cascode may be a better choice, while if power
dissipation is a concern, the folded cascode may be more suitable.
