E-LEARNING
E-learning - learning method using electronic technologies to access training curriculum outside of a physical classroom.

Trainees are offered with a wide range of training programmes in various packages.
b. Interactive learning
Self-paced e-learning usually a web-based training consists of a set of interactive e-lessons (text, graphics, animations, audio, video,etc)

Creating a learning environment that “simulates” the real world (Video-based, Game based, Story-based, etc).
d. Blended e-learning / Hybrid
Combination of classroom e-learning through LAN or WAN. Synchronous and asynchronous online discussions as to facilitate communication and
knowledge among trainees.

MOBILE LEARNING
• Mobile learning focuses on the usage of mobile apps via devices such as smartphones, tablets and
notebooks which allow learners to consume their learning and training at their own pace.
• Mobile learning application is providing opportunity for employers to share their training contents as well as
receive immediate feedback from employees.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (OJT)
• To encourage a skilled worker/supervisor to train another unskilled or new worker to acquire skills while working
alongside the skilled worker/supervisor
• Teaching the skills, knowledge, and competencies that are needed for employees to perform a specific job
within the workplace and work environment. This will minimize the disruption involved in sending workers to
external training with immediate training

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING SCHEME (ITS)
Industrial Training is for trainees (students) that are undergoing practical training at the employer’s premise
before graduating
Submission via e-TRiS under Industrial Training (ITS) scheme
Minimum duration is two (2) months,
Application must be submitted by employers
Maximum duration is eight (8) months
before commencement of training date

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Based on 20% of the levy balance when the first application for the year is submitted

• Monthly allowance: max RM500/month/trainee


• Personal Protective Equipment (1 set only)
• Insurance Coverage (if any)

Required supporting documents:


• A copy of the Industrial Placement Confirmation Letter issued by the public or private university, institution of higher learning, college
or training institute
• A copy of confirmation letter from employer to agree for the industrial placement
• A copy of the programme structure

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & COMPUTER AIDED TRAINING (IT)
To encourage employers to further retrain their employees in the field of Information
technology whereby financial assistance will be provided to them to purchase desktop
computers
Submission via e-TRiS under IT scheme
Application must be submitted by employers before purchase of computers

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:
Maximum of RM25,000 Note:
Applications can be made once in every 3 years
• Allow SME to purchase desktops/laptops for training

• To encourage more in-house retraining and skills upgrading of their employees by purchasing of training aids for the purpose of
setting up, renovating or enhancing training rooms
• Setting up of a training room does not include the construction of a building, training centre or the rental of training rooms

COMPUTER-BASED TRAINING SCHEME (CBT)
• To enable employers to purchase / develop training software to retrain and upgrade the knowledge and skills of
their workforce, especially for employers who are unable to release their employees to attend training outside
company premises
• To assists employees in self-pace learning as well as flexible learning hours, training location and environment
through the use of training software packages

PURCHASE OF COMPUTER SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPUTER SOFTWARE


SPECIFICATION:
• Software must be in the form of CD, DVD, CD/DVDROM or video
• Solely for training and learning purposes
• Interactive training programmes on specific skills that enable users to learn the skills on their own without any instructor
• Able to evaluate the learning progress of users;
• Software that are not eligible under the scheme are software for display or reading purposes e.g. procedures or guidelines on safety,
e-book or e encyclopaedia, application software used for daily operational activities such as Microsoft Office, Accounting Software,
Auto CAD computer programming software

Development of Mobile Learning Apps and Learning Management System (LMS) are allowed under Development of Computer Software
