Based on our target’s group familiarity with the concept of card-less transactions the
concept was easily understood (smart wallet & e-payment platforms)

Majority were clear that the app will provide them with many cashless services

After showing the App Emulator, their understanding was confirmed which had an
effect on the overall appeal

Relevance
Relevance was highly affected by mainly two things
• Their familiarity with the cash-less transactions
• The ability of non-banked consumers using it
• This would make the concept more popular and used across SECs
• Amongst the younger age group and lower SEC it was seen a very
positive point as it would allow them the usage of the app without
restricting them to having a bank account
• Amongst the Higher SEC it was of high relevance as it would help them
use this service amongst all the people they need money transactions
with

After showing the emulator the concept of (all services in one app) feature increased
the convenience of the service which had a direct effect on the relevance of it.

• Quick method for their daily transactions


• Easy to monitor their balance and track their expenses.

Uniqueness
In general the services offered are not new to the market, as many noted that they
can have the same services done through their smart wallets (Vodafone cash & Bank
Wallet).

Yet the main feature that was found interesting was the (all services in one App) which
will make them more in control of all their expenses.

After showing the emulator, the existence of new features had a positive effect on
uniqueness (send & receive the money as it was seen easy to use & innovative)

Trial Intention
Before showing the emulator, Trial intention was negatively affected by two elements,
lack of uniqueness and credibility of the concept.
• Majority were worried of using a new app for payment and transactions.
• There was a clear worry of using a new app for financial transaction as majority are
cautious when it comes to money.

Yet, the cooperation with the CBE & VISA was seen as an asset trying to push people to
trust the service
After showing the Emulator, higher trial intention was noted due to the app being user-
friendly and the variety in one app.

Overall appeal was highly affected by the ease of usage of the app in addition to its
high relevance amongst the no banked segment who will make it a more popular app
used across social classes

the concept had some innovative features like (all in one) & (Send & collect options)
that were interesting to majority.

Design Evaluation
Although the using a service and completing a transaction was seen
easy. Finding what you want was the main problem.

Home page gave the impression of the app being professional and
including all the needed services. Yet, it was seen a bit crowded which
made it hard for them to find what they are looking for.

Fine Tuning
• Design Related:
• Less crowded home page for the ease of usage and finding
what is needed

• More than one icon for the same service


• Creates confusion amongst users were they are not sure which is
the right way to use the service
• Being confused while using the service negatively affect the
reliability of the concept. As it will cause frustration and lack
of interest to continue, specially that other services are
available

YALLA name evaluation
The App Main Character:
• Young
• Supportive
• Multi tasking The name YALLA was able to project the exact character of the service. As
• Down to earth it was seen youthful, easy to pronounce and multipurpose.
• Dynamic Yet It is NOT UNIQUE as it reminded audience with “Yalla Kora”

Youthful High relevance as the app is new and targeting the young generation

YALLA Easy Easy to pronounce and a word used by all target segments.

Relevant to the concept of being one App for different services.


Multi purpose - Some noted that adding the word “PAY” would be better to identify the app services

• Worth noting that some older age groups had a suggestion of using a different name that could give a more
serious impression as we are dealing with money. Yet, the same people saw the character of the app as youthful,
which makes the name YALLA more relevant even amongst the older age group
