 Step 5: Write a Story in simple past and past progressive.

You will find a story about a frightened day, and each student has to continue the story.

Specifications:

• Each student must write at least 5 lines of the story.

• In each paragraph, the student must write sentences in past progressive and

past simple.

• Has to be coherence among the paragraphs.

The most frightened day…

Last year my friend Melissa was planning her vacations, she was really happy because she

was planning to go with her fiancé, she was planning to have a great time there, she bought the

airplane tickets, did the reservation in a very nice place and everything was set.

The trip that my friend had been planning last year, her fiancé canceled everything last

month, leaving her standing and with the plane tickets bought. My friend was very sad but she

went with her sister without the company of her boyfriend, she was planning to enjoy her happy
vacation in the city of Cartagena, enjoying the wonderful landscapes of this beautiful city,

leaving behind the memory that her boyfriend could not accompany her

On the second day of her vacation, my friend Melisa receiveding a surprise that

marked her life forever. She was likeding to go for a walk on the beach, so she was tooking

advantage and wenting out hoping to see the sunset, after walking for half an hour, In the

distance she was sawing her boyfriend with a bouquet of flowers and a beautiful ring, She

was remembereding that one day before traveling she found her boyfriend in a jewelry store.

What she didn´t know was that he had a surprise for her. He apologized for the pain

he caused her, he was thinking about making the most important decision in his life and then

he made up his mind, he decided to prepare the surprise, when she listened to his explanation

she started to cry. She was very happy and kissed him in the cheek, while they were

sunbathing on the beach, she saw her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend.

Immediately, Bruce (her boyfriend) remembered that he had received some calls from

her ex-girlfriend before the trip, he didn’t answer them because they had not finished the

relationship in good terms, and he now was trying to overcome it and start a new

relationship. His ex-girlfriend, Sarah, arrived and asked him to talk for a minute about

something very important that would change all their lives.

 Melissa decides not to listen, limping away because this situation had really shocked

her. Bruce didn’t know if the right thing was to listen to his ex-girlfriend or to go after

Melissa. He finally decided to solve the problem that was arising before it became worse.

Sarah tells Bruce that she is pregnant, but he proposes her to get a DNA test to make sure the

baby is his. He said that meanwhile he needs time with Melissa to let her know about it.
