Campus diaries- Uet Tribune

On asking the question of, how do you find being among burger boys. Although it is strange maintaining company with
this type of people for me but having the interest to live with different type of people, it is ok for me. I have joined UET
by my own consent. I have applied for many institutes and universities, but due to certain factors like proximity and
one’s consent compel me to join UET.

After this, I’m not ever regretted this decision in four-year university life. I did not regret my decision. As far as UET
campus life is concerned, it is excellent. I have seen NUST and PTEAS campus life but it was never that matching to UET
environment, they are both outside city lights which personally I do not like. Overall UET has a versatile environment
and culture.

On asking question about the joining of multiple societies, he added that at first when I came UET, I thought that there
would be just taking good grades and sticking to books, but later on I found student vigorously take participation in
different societies and show their interests in extracurricular activities, then I applied for 4 different societies, among
which UET tribune, AKS. When we came it was start of 2019, Syfy event was two weeks away to start. It was a
momentous event. We used to sleep at 11’O clock is night. Decoration and management of the event disturbed our
timetable, but it was an adventure. I remembered when Syfy had arrange a graphic designing workshop, that all were
remarkably interesting.

Telling about the tenure of general member to presidentship, he says that it was a nice experience. As I have mentioned
before that there were many societies with different major domains. They were all active and constantly engaging their
students with various activities like workshops, management, events etc. I realize that it is very time taking process.
While talking to senior or junior, you must keep tour tongue accordingly. Besides, I learnt many technical skills. I have
been inducted in graphic designing team, although I had no interest towards it. But with time passage, I have grip over it
to some extent. I was rejected ten times for designing a cover poster by the inductive team. At last, I assumed if they
reject me once more, I am going to leave the society. On contrast, this time it worked, and I have been selected.

So, when he was asked about his first day in UET Lahore the answer was like “I had no idea about the exact date of first
class. I came to know about my first class just 1 or 2 days earlier so without preparation or packing for my hostel life I
came to university. Talking about ragging he shared his experience as “I was looking more of a senior than a junior on my
first day so when it all started, I stood among seniors to watch my classmate get the feel of university life but never
became a subject to ragging.

It was a wonderful experience on my first day as university life is always different from college or school life.

UET holds special place in my heart as we made a lot of memories in all these years of stay. I cannot explain a specific
memory, but I must say that UET has given me a lot. He advised that everybody must have a sense of business and
should start a business once but first it is good to do a job that can give you experience and field awareness. He told that
he has no plan to pursue a Masters degree, he will opt a job for 2 to 3 years.

Remarks on session 2018 in Tribune were “When on-campus classes started the hierarchy of UET Tribune shifted and
many of us were lagging as it happens even if you are the senior most but the reason is that we had to work from home
due to Covid. There are few things that can only be made perfect when you personally experience them that is where
you stop lagging. I hope that the UET Tribune will perform even better next year.”I had an aim that we have to remove
senior junior barrier in UET Tribune so a junior can come up to a senior have a conversation without hesitation and
create a friendly environment.

When asked about his talkative behavior he replied “I was like an introvert in starting days of first year, never talked to
anybody in gathering but now I can say that I have changed myself during all these years.”

I had joined many societies and consistently worked as I did in first year till now.
